Solved Gparted Bootable Drive Help

Recently, I had BIOS freeze. I was successful in getting everything working again, except I had to replace a several-year-old CMOS battery to do it. As expected my BIOS was reset to default settings. Windows is booting again, and I was successful in re-enabling TPM. I think I'm missing a setting somewhere though. Before, a Gparted boot disk I had created worked fine. I tested it and it boots but my M.2 drives are not visible. Recommendations on what setting change I missed to make them visible?

Both drives are M.2 NVME with RST enabled
No encryption (e.g. Bitlocker Disabled)
Windows 11 24H2 (26100.6584)

- Windows build/version would be nice.
- Any data encryption used on drive(s) wouldn't be bad either.

OK, now how about a screenshot of Disk Configuration?

Just as with a windows install usb boot drive, if one's drives are not detected by the Gparted boot usb drive, it means disk mode is set to RAID or VMD in the system's bios. RAID drivers have to be loaded, either manually during the Windows install, or inserted into the iso. For Intel systems, this is the IRST driver. For AMD systems it the AMD RAID driver.

Likewise these drivers have to be inserted into a GParted Live boot disk which requires a custom build of the GParted image, as the standard ISO is not designed for modification. This process is highly technical and should only be attempted if absolutely necessary, such as when your hardware is not detected by the standard boot disk.

An alternative would be to temporarily change disk mode to AHCI, boot from Gparted. Gparted should see the disk. Do what you gotta do in Gparted, then re-enable RAID in order to boot into windows.
Note: your windows will not boot if disk mode is left in AHCI mode. You must set it back to RAID.

In order to boot from a Gparted boot disk in the first place, you will probably have to turn off secure boot in bios as well before you can even boot to the disk.

Yep...I changed from RST to AHCI in the BIOS and this time it showed. Switched it back to RST to boot back into Windows. I have another machine, that is also set as RAID in the BIOS that didn't have issues with GParted...oh well. Thanks for the help.
