My Computer

I lost a couple motherboards several years ago due to power bumps and learned to have the computers attached to a UPS/Uninterruptible Power Supply [battery backup]. I also make sure any operation in BIOS updates has the computer attached to a UPS. In a case like yours I see if the drive can still be identified in the BIOS then boot to a GPARTED LiveCD [downloaded .iso file used to create it] and see what it has about the drive, delete any partitions which usually puts it back to as-shipped condition.

It's showing in the picture I posted but I cannot select drive letter. No idea how to find which drive its on?

PS - I did notice once it loaded, it asked for a password for the hard drive to which I didnt know and it then said drive locked.

Reboot and choose it to run, could be the Del key, F2, F10 or F12 key or a combination of Fn plus another F key to get the choice of which to start.

In Diskpart use the command List Disk. Then when you know the disk number of the drive, use Select Disk # (where # is the number of the disk you want) before running any commands (such as Clean) on the disk.

My Computer

Is disk 0 in a computer bay or is it an external hard drive?

If possible connect the cable to another port and reboot the computer.

Was there any important data on this drive?

Did you plan to format a partition or the whole disk drive?

Unfortunately that's a failed drive after power outage.

If Sea Tools short generic fails then long generic will fail.

If the drive is under warranty then contact Sea Tools.

This is another disk drive where Hard Disk Sentinel reported > 90% health.
This one was 100%.
It's based on SMART.

So if possible see if Sea Tools can display SMART results.
