Indeed, even sordum tool had to disable CMD option, because it was used by malware.

I find this to be a good thing because it's monitoring for whether I have other protection software running. If something expires, Defender hopefully will reenable itself to assist in keeping me protected.

MS just wants people to use AV, any AV for that matter, because is it as follows:

People disable Defender - get infected - complain that Windows sucks - spam MS tech support.

As for the harsh truth, if you do not know how to disable Defender, do not, you will get infected without it.

It sends stuff to us? I must have disabled something somewhere because Defender only alerts me of when I shut down Norton, which I seldom do.

Smartscreen alone "helped" to arrest some people as well as MS going through onedrive private files.
Not to mention that Kaspersky's own "smartscreen" caused it to be banned in US and partially in EU.

I do not use AV since XP, I was just saying that people should use any AV rather than none, so even Defender will do.

Defender sends samples to microsoft servers on billion+ of windows win-10 and 11 users

There have been only a few instances of defender finding any illegal activity and acting on it
But worry not a billion+ users personal files and activities were molested by defender for these few actors lol

In the 40 years since I have been using a PC withOUT an antivirus, I only became infected twice, in the beginning and it was nothing I had no control over. I learned really quick.

Some people are extremely dumb and stupid. They need to be led and can't think on their own. They just blindly jump into the water without knowing or testing it first. They need to be protected from themselves. This is where antivirus applications help.
