Solved Help - Power Start Menu (Start menu overlaps Task bar)

I'm setting up a new PC and I grabbed the trial version of Power Start Menu from the Microsoft store.

When I click start the menu comes up lower then normal and as a result the taskbar is covering the bottom area of the start menu with the account and power button. (and any folder you choose to show there)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

No such problem here. Maybe try a new install of PSM? I think the Start menu vertical position is hard-wired into Windows 11. Shouldn't ever interfere with your taskbar. I'm a PSM fan and advocate, and I've never seen any problem with it. It just works.

I used PSM to take out the power button and folders, leaving only the account label at the bottom of Start. Didn't use the folders, and the power button was more trouble than right-clicking Start and moving the cursor up to Shut down ...

Seems to be hard-wired to the position of the Taskbar, centered on the screen if bar is centered, on the left if bar is left.

Yahbut, that's the horizontal position. OP is concerned about the vertical position, and his Start menu has moved down so far he can't see the bottom of it because the taskbar hides it. OP thinks that's caused by Power Start Menu. I think not. We'll see, but there are no other complaints remotely like OP's on the Github feedback site for this app.

If you uninstall PSM, does the Start menu return to its correct vertical alignment (as is it in my shot above)?

No customizations on mine, the Start and All apps menu opens about a third the height of the Taskbar above the Taskbar itself whether centered or left. It's sort of a 'white space' between the bar and the menus.

Yep,that's where it's supposed to sit. If you click my shot in #2, you'll see from the larger image that that's where mine sits, too. OP says his sits well below where it's supposed to be, and the bottom hides behind his task bar.

so I'd assume the issue may lie there. Customizations and trial versions of those can give problems.

Yeah, that's what OP assumes, too. I countered that I had had no such problems with PSM, and that I hadn't seen any complaints about that issue on the PSM feedback site. So, JIC it IS in fact PSM Trial version that's giving him the problem, I suggested that he try a new installation of PSM. OP posted and then disappeared, so we haven't heard anything from him since the post. Hope he comes back so we can continue to investigate the problem --- or solve it.

It has self corrected.

It was probably an issue with windows itself. I've had the taskbar buttons go invisible once each on both new pc's already. I had unpin and pin stuff back.

I'm only using it to hide the Microsoft Spam, I mean 'reccomendations'.

You can do that natively in Windows.

If you read that thread, most say that only works on Enterprise/Education editions, not on Pro and certainly not on home.

I'm going to try it anyways on System #1 but I'm in the middle of copying a 6TB HDD for System #2 and can't restart to see if it worked for a few more hours.
