How to Confirm PC is in Sleep Mode or a Sleep Event Has Occurred

My HP All in One AIO set to "screen off" after 10 minutes and "sleep" after 20 minutes. After 20 minutes how can I confirm the AIO is sleeping and not just screen off? The power light remains solid and does not blink, leading me to believe it might not be actually sleeping.

When you use the PC again, you can open the Event Viewer, go to the System log, and filter on the source Power-Troubleshooter. Event 1 will tell you that the system came out of sleep.

This is how we used to do it in the old days .

Set a simple batch command program running that makes a sound at say 5 second intervals.

If program stops making a sound it is sleeping. If it continues to make a sound, only screen is off.

Yeah that shouldn’t be too annoying for 19 minutes.

You were asked in your other thread to post a screenshot of your power configuration but you did not do so. Until you do, we can only speculate. Having multiple threads centering around the same problem makes little sense.

You can also open command prompt as admin and type powercfg /lastwake to see what last woke your system.
You can also use Event Viewer>Windows logs>system to see power transitions. When you put system to sleep there should be a corresponding event in event viewer telling what state..

Are the P/S fans still running? When mine sleeps, it uses S3 suspend, and all the fans and lights go off. The power usage also goes down to around 8 watts, the memory power is still active as it's retaining the current state. I'd only use S3 suspend if you have a UPS.
