How to dual boot Win 10 and 11 ?

You could, but then you wouldn't have the option to select which OS you wanted to boot to at startup.

If he disconnected the C: drive like he posted above when installing the second OS, that would explain not having the option to select which OS to select at boot, and would have to manually add it using EasyBCD instead.

The current OS disk must be connected when installing the second OS on the other disk.

How is one supposed to select what OS to boot too? I'm not going to connect and disconnect drives or enter the BIOS every time I boot the computer. I use EasyBCD because like the name says, it makes it easy.

Well, we used to have to select which HDD drive to computer boots from within BIOS setup utility.

Doesn't that open the door for the possibility of the boot partition being move to the wrong drive? I had that happen to me the one time I forgot to disconnect my C: drive. When I disconnected the D: drive my system wouldn't boot.

With my way I just wait for the boot screen and select the OS I want to use. There is no need to enter the BIOS. Whatever way you feel is easier that is the way you should do it.

Edit: I now use VMs instead of dual booting.

Normally, the boot partition just gets updated.

In a situation like you mention, running an startup repair at boot should repair it though.

It was back when Win 10 was first released to the public. I was dual booting Win 10 and the Insider build of Win 10. For whatever reason the repair option didn't work. Even the repair option in Macrium Reflect didn't work. I fixed it by using a Macrium image.

It is really easy to create dual boot entries if you have two drives each with their own windows and EFI partitions.

1) boot from one OS via bios

2) note drive letter of Windows on second drive - say E:

3) from admin command prompt type:

bcdboot e:\windows /p /d
