OK, did you try installing the Windows 11 driver that's posted?

Outside of that, I'm still lost on why the driver isn't installing and as you say causing loss of Wi-Fi (internet) connection.

The driver isn't causing the loss of Wi-Fi. Running in safe mode is causing the loss of Wi-Fi.

@William654, I could never get Wi-Fi working in safe mode. I even bought a USB Wi-Fi adapter that was supposed to work. The thing I don't understand is that for some people Wi-Fi works in safe mode.

Just a note, for me the issue with Safe Mode with Networking has been the drivers not being loaded except for the Ethernet connection, same as when doing a clean install of Windows on a bare drive.

How? By what program? And perhaps that might be of use to the OP?

Or is it one of those under the hood things that can only be shared by a secret handshake?

Please perform the following steps:

1) Make a fresh boot into safe mode with networking
2) Do not logon
3) In the right lower corner click on the network icon
4) Select a Wifi network
5) Once connected to Wifi > logon to Windows

My 5-year-old Desktop came with an add-in PCIe X4 Wireless adapter but can't use it in Safe Mode, seems to be different from those adapters that have their own socket on the motherboard. It does have the Ethernet port on the motherboard.

I know from experience that it won't work.
