How to manually adjust "open with"?

When I "open with" Paintshop Pro (an old program), the file is not passed to the program. The program is opened, but the image does not open along with it. A long time ago in a previous version of Windows (I can't remember which one), you could edit the command given, and I remember I had to add a %1 and I had to put long filenames in quotes. Where do I access this in Windows 11 to repair the problem?

I use Paintshop Pro 7.04 and when I do "open with..." and choose Paintshop Pro, it opens the program with the image inside. And I never had to edit any commands.

Do you have those image types associated with Paintshop Pro?

1. Run Paintshop Pro as administrator
2. Go to File > Preferences > File Format Associations and click Select All
3. If you also have Jasc Animation Shop 3, un-check .gif in step #2, then click OK.

If your version of Paintshop Pro is broken... go here...

Personally, I recommend Paintshop Pro 7.04
It's powerful enough to do just about everything, but doesn't have a steep learning curve, like Photoshop or GIMP.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
I use 9, since it's the latest one before Corel ruined it. I tried a Corel one and it took THIRTY SECONDS to load on a Ryzen 9 3900XT (bloody fast 24 core CPU). When I complained, they thought 30 seconds was perfectly ok!!

I meant to say when double clicking a jpg, not open with, but the problem is the same with both. PSP opens, but the image isn't passed to it.

I didn't know they were free, I (well you know). I'll try your link to v9.... Thanks! That fixed it! I never thought of reinstalling, dunno if my previous version was dodgy or if I'd busted it afterwards with other programs messing with settings.

For anyone reading this and trying, it asks for a serial number. You need to go into the hidden folder and run the setup in there. The autorun on the main CD asks for a number. As one of the comments says, worst copy protection ever.
