HP i7 9700 Z2 G4 - need advice

Well, as usual, important notes.
then it is better to look for a 8700 processor because it is 65 watts.
There is absolutely no need to use headphones; my computer doesn't make any noise at all and its temperature doesn't exceed 40 during use.
The problem only occurs when when i run Windows update or when using the antivirus to scan for viruses; it makes noise and the temperature rises in the final stage of research and cleaning.
the noise is coming from the fan
When the computer's temperature rises to 95c , is there any danger?

regards

SIW2 ... Yes, you are absolutely right.
My processor is 65 watts and not 95 watts.
The question is, will a 95-watt processor exacerbate the problem or solve it?

95w will probabaly make it worse

airflow is not great in SFF cases usually. The very small USFF machines tend to have T cpu. But they are less powerful

The i7-9700T runs at only 2ghz and boosts to 4.3ghz

saw a video where the poster printed a new top cover for the SFF case with lots of holes in it instead of the original top which had no ventilation.

I didn't go to any store; i was sick, but i tested an old computer that i had stored away.
The old computer had an i5 6400 processor, and i upgraded it to an i7 2600 95w . the computer is small from factor >>> the same as my computer
I tested both Windows 10 and 11 and did a scan with the antivirus and windows updates, i didn't hear any sound from the computer; it just heated up from 35 to 60c
I have now confirmed after this test that my computer's problem is related to the ninth generation processor.
I will look for a used 8700K processor and will try it.

Certainly, i will inform you of any updates, but this matter depends on my obtaining the processor, and I hope to find it quickly.

What is the logical explanation for this problem? An old computer works without issues, makes no noise, and its temperature doesn't reach 90c when using the antivirus and updates , while the new computer makes noise and its temperature rises to 90c when using the antivirus and updates.
the old computer small from factor i7 2600 ... 95w
the new computer small from factor i7 9700 ... 65w

My HP i7-9700 is 95W.

As mentioned, it runs cool and quiet.

Is the fan working noisy?

I have run many HP i5-8600/i7-9700 DM computers. it's unlikely an issue on CPU paste. possible issues as you have got it over three years.
  1. CPU fan.
  2. motherboard.
my HP i7-9700 DM has two fans. one over CPU. another over SSD. it works in room temperature. your 85 is abnormal high to me.

Today, I used a program to get rid of unwanted files, but after restarting the computer, two problems appeared: the first problem is that the storage size does not appear as it does in the attached image, and the second problem is that when creating a system restore point, i got this error code ... (0x80042302)
I searched on Google and tried many solutions, but none of them worked.

siliconbeaver .... Shouldn't all processors 9700 be 65 watts?

my processor i7 9700 65w

you are right,

It's a 65W processor.

while, its input specs 19.5V 4.62A, indeed requires 90W power. it runs two computer fans inside.

I received the 8700K processor today and i replaced the 9700 processor with the 8700K processor.
When i powered on the computer, i saw a red light and a beeping sound. i turned off the computer and reinstalled the processor.
This time i didn't hear a beep, but i saw a error message ( Fan detection error-901-chassias fan not detected (REAR) press inter to continue)
A strange error message because the fans were working or perhaps because the processor is not compatible with this computer.
After pressing Enter, the computer started up normally, but every time i restarted the computer, the error message appeared again.
The important thing is that when i started scan my computer with antivirus ... i began to hear a louder sound than before and the computer temperature rose to 98 degrees. .. nothing worked here.
regards

8700k has 95w tdp. The K suffix means it is for people who want to overclock and have sufiicient cooling. Not a good choice for a SFF

your i7-9700 has 65w tdp.

With a 65W processor (Athlon x2 5000+ Brisbane 65nm) and a good case (Cooler Master Centurion 5 w/ Scythe SlipStream 1600rpm) and stock CPU cooler, the processor would never go over 55ºC or so, even with the room at 35ºC.

From all the things you don't have my first suspect would be the processor mounting/health. Do you find it too easy to mount? I mean some modern coolers require a lot of force, I even broke an AMD frame in 2022 with a new cooler (the mobo was from 2007 and it had its original frame, not sure if these 15 years count or most likely I pressed the cooler "unevenly" or whatever). Not sure if the retention force decreases with time (I have that impression) or if it influences the cooling result.

The 2nd suspect would be the processor cooler design. Idk if it's the stock Intel one (which I'd trust if it's in good condition) or an ad hoc smaller one, which might be designed to just hold a 65W processor below temp limits (say 100ºC).

I doubt the small case and its poor cooling have a direct influence, b/c they aren't that small and that poor. With standard midtowers I find the processor temp quite independent from the case cooling level/quality (up to at least 125W or so, be aware that currently there're many processors with tricky power specs that actually surpass 200W).

I'm now writing from a fanless miniPC with a 10W processor (in my specs), not way intended to a achieve speed records lol. The cooler is the aluminun top face of the device. I've got HwInfo64 to display the temp in the systray. It can go to about 70-75ºC but it never surpasses that, I'm sure the processor is throttled to achieve it. Maybe you can set something similar in your BIOS.

I'd try to ascertain if you can mount the motherboard and the computer in a bigger case, not necessarily a 500 bucks one with newest gen LEDs and 8x140mm fans and such. The 2nd hand market is very ample and maybe you can catch a bargain. Ideally just one 120 mm exhaust fan, 92mm or even 80mm would be enough for 65W but a 120mm 1200rpm fan would be silent and ideal for your hw.
