Must be a ROG thing. Neither of my TUF boards came with thread locker on the screws.

It can be used to glue a tiny hex (hexagonal) nut onto the head of the screw. Just be sure to apply only just a single, VERY tiny drop of the stuff so it doesn't start to flow under the head of the screw. (Or use a bit of nail polish to seal off the tiny crevice between the nut and the head of the screw before you pour the Locktite into the center of the nut.) Once glued, let it sit completely undisturbed for 24 hours (or much longer if you poured too much...).

P.S., also consider the possibility that the previous owner of the laptop has used Locktite or Super Glue to glue the screw in there permanently, e.g., after the screw threads got damaged inside the hole that keeps the screw in place, which would've been "quite stupid" I guess, albeit there's a rumor out that jackasses are people too.

Glad to hear that you finally have a working notebook well, almost
I hope with all the help you got from all the forum members that you will be successful in replacing
that stubborn screw. Just remember to either wear a anti-static bracelet or resting it on a anti-static pad.
Working with tools that don't have rubber handles can and will cause damage to the internals of the
notebook. Just my experience. Let us know when the deed is done and how it all went.

Well it had to go on hold for a while as we all got some nasty virus, one after the other - been going on for weeks. When I've caught up with myself I'll be installing the Hynix Gold P31 in one computer or another.
