Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software



Get the Windows 11 ISO image (from the official tutorial (above), or from UUP Dump), and save it to your desktop...

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations.
Your drivers, programs and data will be intact.

It probably is incompatible. That doesn't mean you can't install Windows 11, there are work-arounds.
I'm not sure if an In-Place Upgrade will work on an incompatible computer.
I can't test it, because my computer IS compatible.

IF your computer is incompatible... the In-Place upgrade will work or not. It shouldn't hurt anything though.
It will succeed or fail. If it fails you should end up back where you started. It should undo... itself.

You may just have do do a clean install, with those work-arounds to get to 22H2.

Run WhyNotWin11.exe and post a screen shot of the result.
If your computer is compatible, you'll get all GREEN boxes... like this...

I think the problem you're having with updates, is that your machine is NOT compatible, with Windows 11.
Microsoft has been warning us that we would have problems running Windows 11 on incompatible hardware.

As I mentioned above... you may be able to get around that... with an In-Place Upgrade.

I used this guidance when I ran a Version update to 22H2 on my non-compliant old computer.
bypass compatibility checks for a Feature update - Bree #8 - ElevenForum
Bree addn - #100 - ElevenForum

I did not make any additional notes so it must have just worked using that guidance.
