Win11_24H2_English_x64 downloaded from MS site.
Reason I tried it is that there are some (minor) problems with current installation and hoped this would fix it. All system check, check out with no problems. At this time I'm hesitant to do clean install due to too many installed programs and games of which some I could not reactivate because they are either free edition programs or lost their licenses/activation codes.

Perhaps make an image of how it all right now and then see how you get on with a clean install.... I know you've posted about issues with updates recently.... maybe the current installation is just to far gone to recover in a satisfactory way. Sometimes you just have to blow the old into the weeds and start afresh and it can ultimately be quicker than faffing around with the old.

Go through all your programs and try and get everything you need ready on flash drives ready to re install. Sometimes its the only way.

I mounted ISO and started upgrade with Setup.exe as usual several times before to keep files and settings of course. I allowed to check for updates because it checks for them anyway, disabled or not. Everything run as expected until that last step. Except for Defender,there's no other AV or similar security installed.
can't seem to find where is that option for windows to do it online.

I have always current full system backup using MR and Hasleo, that's not the problem but spending a week or so on new setup is what I'm trying to avoid. Issues I have are minor but annoying, it's nothing disastrous but yes, installation is several years old but always fully updated.

Don’t allow it, that’s why Brink mentions that in the tutorial, I suppose?
I have also failed when allowing it to check for updates
