in power settings it has put pc to sleep can i change this to hibernate


Don't want to replace the WORD want to add Hibernate to the shutdown settings options......my pc used to have sleep and Hibernate, thought it could be added with a registry tweak

again.. adding HIBERNATE to that control panel page is NOT possible. that checkbox adds it to your START MENU Power Button options. there is no way you ever had a Hiberate Drop-Down option on that page. there is, as i've stated, Hibernate drop-down option in the Advanced Power window though.

if you dont want to go to the advanced settings, there is a portable app that will run in your tray and you can set any power option to execute "if idle for xxx min" or on a schedule...

I'm not saying "Change the wird' I need to add the Hibernate option, but if not possible then fine thanks

Right click on Start > Terminal (Admin)

Then enter powercfg /a (must be a space before the /)

That will list available sleep states which may/may not include Hibernate. If not in the list then it can be a hardware/firmware issue.
On one of my previous PCs the Hibernate option was removed by Windows and that was it, gone.
