Installment can't connect to internet

Hi.



I have two tech questions that mat be solved ?



I do always do a Clean Installment of Windows, every year, before January 1st. I have noticed that this past last big update of Windows 11, the install process will not read / connect to the Ethernet. I will have to get out of it and get into local and 30 minutes to download Driver Booster, to update everything. After this. Everything is fine.



Where may I find the update Realtek network adapter to keep ?



Do i need to update the bios too ?

I think it is very unlikely that this achieves any benefit that you could not achieve more simply by using Disk cleanup [which improves performance as well as merely clearing out trash].

You could have backed up all your hardware drivers before the clean install so that you could now restore them to get the hardware running again.

You could look in Windows update, Optional updates.
You could use its HardwareID to search for the driver - my ditty - Search for drivers by HardwareID - TenForums

Clean installing makes no difference to the Bios so, if you did not need a Bios update beforehand, you don't need one now.

Your network driver probably isn't the issue. As a recent change to W11 24H2 and later, if your install image isn't up-to-date, then Windows will pause during the OOBE screen and check for missing monthly updates. Depending on how old your ISO is, that can be at worse 2-3 GB of content that must be downloaded and installed before you're even allowed to the desktop.

If you like to re-install Windows from time to time (it's your personal choice), then I recommend getting an updated ISO instead of using just any Windows ISO that hasn't been untouched in a while. The Media Creation Tool tends to make a more recent ISO than the direct download ISO, from the MS website.

A more recent ISO will reduce the time you're waiting for updates to load. The older your ISO is, the more backlog there is to download.
