Is there a way to change the icon of and UWP/Windows app in the start menu in Windows 11?

Is there a way to change the icon of an UWP/Windows app in the start menu in Windows 11?

When I right click on an UWP icon in the start menu (for example Photos app) there is no "properties option" where you can change the icon.
Is there a workaround?

Did you try something like copying the shortcut on the desktop, change the icon from there and pin it back to the Start Menu ?

Or else, try to make these modifications directly in the Start Menu folders :

%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Though, I'm not sure if you can access Metro apps icons/shortcuts there, nor if you can actually change them.
I'll also be happy to know about it.

    Using W11 OS on customers' computers more and more often, and sometimes on my mum's new laptop.
UWP apps are not in the folders you listed. I have also wanted to edit the icons and even some of the names of the UWP apps but never found the location. Not too sure why Microsoft have to make the start menu so difficult to edit, or modify

You'd have to gain admin rights to the hidden WindowsApps folder...,
replace all the .png's with the exact size, type and name as the existing, or, modify the Appx manifest to point toward the new images...

Probably by modifying the manifest, as well. Never tried myself though! There's also a good chance of corrupting the files!

Take "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" ownership. Change the name in "AppxManifest.xml" (run your text editor as Admin). Replace the app PNG (icon) with your desired PNG (Chaneg/Replace "Assets>Logo>logo.scale-100.png file):
