Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 26100.2152 (KB5044384) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 24H2 (Build 26100).

Below is a summary of the new features and improvements included as part of this update separated into two sections: gradual rollout and normal rollout. The bold text within the brackets indicates the item or area of the change we are documenting.

Gradual rollout​

The following features and improvements might not be available to all users because they will roll out gradually. Text bolded in brackets indicate the area of the change being documented.
  • [Start menu] New! You can directly access content on your mobile device from the Start menu on your PC. Using this feature, you can view your device’s battery status and connectivity, access your voice messages, calls, and photos, and pick up where you left off with the latest activities on your device. Only Android users who are already connected using Phone Link can get this feature. iOS support will be coming later. To manage this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Start. [UPDATE 10/14] This feature will roll out to Insiders in Release Preview on Windows 11, version 24H2 at a later date and is not rolling out yet with this update.

I just tried installing KB5044384 again, and, once again, my network sharing is broken.

Below are two screenshots of my Windows Firewall. One before I installed KB5044384 and one after. File and Printer sharing is greyed out after the installation of KB5044384. I clicked on the "Change Settings" button and unticked, then reticked it. It is no longer greyed out, but my network sharing is still broken.

I just backed up to 26100.1742. My machine wasn’t showing on the network. I tried a few things but it was late so I back tracked. I didn’t check the firewall. I’ll see later but the issue went away once I returned to 1742.

cant upgrade from windows 11 home to pro using generic key when using this build. i try again with 26100.2033, i got no problem upgrading windows by using same key.

Removing the update does not fix the problem. You have to roll back to another image.

I think it was supposed to install into the system somewhere but, mine did not do this. I will let it there until next update and see if it moves.

Would seem it's not new - see this same problem reported in 2022.

You need to ensure "File and Printer Sharing" and "File and Printer Sharing (Restrictive)" are selected. Actually, I tested it with only "File and Printer Sharing (Restrictive)" selected, and it was still working.

You need to ensure "File and Printer Sharing" and "File and Printer Sharing (Restrictive)" are selected. Actually, I tested it with only "File and Printer Sharing (Restrictive)" selected, and it was still working.

Just checked downloads, and I have no such directory, thankfully...;) If it's in downloads, delete it (Trashcan) as you probably don't need it, and you probably will not see any problem with it gone. Then, empty your trash...;)

Great New system. Exceeds my expectations by quite a bit, btw. I love the USB G8 SoundBlaster, it's quite an improvement over the G6!
@Lesoudeur and @Stigg so same fix. It's weird the original setting doesn't work anymore. Only restrictive setting works. I'm not on insider. Hope someone posts it, but I'm not sure how many votes it will get. :unsure:

I was able to switch from Beta to RP, downloaded and installed this version, ran the usual SFC and DISM scans... and so far so good. :thumbsup:

Evening everyone, since I updated to 24H2, via windows update, whenever I try to play a wav file in Media Player, I get Error 0xc00d36b4, stating that the file is incompatible, and cannot be opened.
It worked fine before. Has anyone else had this, or know how to fix it?.
