(KB5065426) (26100.6584) Update failed install error 0x800f081f


Thanks To you folks that mentioned the "Fix problems with Windows update option". It worked for me. Afterward the event logs mention an AMD driver that might be out of date or incompatible. Will have to check that further. Like some of you I have gobs of software that takes weeks to reinstall but have kept my OS generally unmodified.

This is the first time I have resorted to the repair install. One or more of the usual troubleshooting methods has always worked when needed. This time they did not. Checking my system after the repair I am surprised the only things that needed further attention was a little Microsoft account stuff. Superb!
Oh, the duplicate drive entries still showed up. 🤣

error 0x800f081f I had the same problem, but I think I found a way to fix it.​

on the windows update page, click on the "pause for 1 week" button over and over until it gray's out , then click on resume updates.
