Even stable updates (November security update) may have some issues. Or the taskmgr.exe zombie process issue may not be resolved in the next security update.

We can use a simple PowerShell script loop to find the taskmgr.exe process count.

What is the exact resolution and scale of each of the 2 monitors?
I have seen bugs before caused by the scale setting of the display.

Yesterday I updated bot my machines to 7019. No problems with DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and sfc /scannow.

I may be wrong but I believe a gray cloud means you're not signed in.

You are not wrong! Here are the colors of the OneDrive cloud in the tray.

White cloud - You're signed in and OneDrive is running normally (personal account).
Blue cloud - You're signed in to a OneDrive for Business or school account.
Gray cloud - You're not signed in, or OneDrive is not connected.

Did you submit an FBH report about the problem?

My screens are pretty much standard Res and Scale, 1920 x 1080 at 100% Scale and 3840 x 2160 at 150% Scale.
Both show the wide new Start Menu with 8 columns.

Not too sure it is a problem, on lower resolutions a menu 8 icons wide is too big.

I guess it depends on the size of the icons.

Anyway, I tried changing the res to 1366 x 768 and it only uses 6 columns in that case, as you said.

Looks like it is not a problem then, even if it could actually fit with 8 columns using up more screen space.

Used a Rufus-usb last times , WITHOUT THE INTERNET, have to do this every time , or else the updates will fail..........
Wonder if we should use another way , maybe Rufus-usb WITH THE INTERNET ON............??!

Ahum. The General Public channel does have also Preview Updates. Mostly cases where there is a problem that must addressed soon that it can't wait for the final update. If you look in your history you may have seen them in the past. i.e. 26200.6725 was a Preview Cumulative Update that days later was succeded by the final one; 26200.6899 Cumulative Update. (That was bugged by that USB-keyboard/mouse WinRE issue. This was fixed with 26200.6901)

This current 26200.7019 Preview Cumulative Update will soon be succeeded by the final one later on. And because every update Build must be unique the number of the final one would be higher i.e. 26200.7102. So you can't link the later build to the previous one.

If you do not take part of the Insider program you will not see updates intended for users which are a member of that Insider program. Even if you where one, you can step out of that program. I was an Insider once but stepped out because I experienced to many issue's.

25H2 worked fine for me by bog standard WU. The laptop I'm using is Windows 11 compliant although I've disabled the secure boot and certificate junk.It's also not a member of Windows insider either.

So far no issues (yet) !!.

Mind you I'm running W11 Enterprise VL but that shouldn't in theory make any difference. I'm going to test things like HYPER-V shortly to see if old VM's still work properly. Laptop is HpElitebook x360 1040 with 8 core i7 processor / 32 GB RAM /512gb Nvme (ssd) hdd.

original install Windows 11 Enterprise VL GB edition 24H2 with isl language added.

Yes repair install is the final solution. There are 2 options to do that; The reinstall option under system - recovery option. And starting setup.exe on a Win11 25H2 disk while Windows is running. The is called the In-Place-Installment. Doing it with or without the internet... The days that we could install Windows as a stand alone product lies far in the past. It has been a fact that today the day we can't install Windows without the internet. Which way you choose; Reinstall or setup.exe Your system will always send information to MS. Under the hood it will send your MS-account (if you are using one. MS is on it's way to outcast the local user accounts for obvious reasons.) to MS. With the setup.exe option you can see what your system is doing. At the beginning you can turn "search for updates" turn off. That question makes no sense. After the installment the update proces will look for updates anyway.

Once installed *using setup.exe* (your system is back at the basic build of 25H2: 26200.6584.) turn updates off and use DISM and SFC to make sure there are now issues. A safety check. After all is OK you can turn updates again and it will download the latest build (now 26200.7019) and applies it. Any other latest updates other then a build version will be downloaded also if it needs it. Solves 99% of the complex problems. I have to reach for this in rare situations. (not at every update!!! That's the main reason why I do a systemwide check to make sure there are no issues before any build update.)

I said it before; I do a systemwide check first with SFC and DISM (only before build changes. Any other types have no issues) because if I don't in the worst case I have to do a repair install which in the end takes up much more time than scanning and fixing things in advance. I am also not happy with the situation. It seems that the number of "things go wrong" is going onto the increase for the last year. This despite MS promise that their "new" update mechanism would be faster and reliable. BS!
