    • Fixed: An issue that caused an ACCESS_DENIED error when users attempted to change passwords remotely on member servers or workgroup devices, even when they had the required permissions.
    • Fixed: This update addresses an issue that affects the Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) service on server domain controllers. When the KDC service is manually stopped, the server cannot retrieve Kerberos tickets.
    • After installing the September 2025 security update for Windows Server 2022 (KB5065432), you might experience repeated reauthentication issues with Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS).
  • [Display] Fixed: After the latest updates, text may not render correctly when editing content within a multiline text box in certain apps.
  • [Installation (known issue)] Fixed: The Media Creation tool l (version 26100.6584), released on September 29, 2025, might not work as expected on devices with Arm64. Users may encounter an error message such as: “We’re not sure what happened, but we're unable to run this tool on your PC." This is a known issue for Windows 11, version 25H2.
  • [Media (known issue)] Fixed: This update addresses an issue where protected content playback fails on some machines after installing KB5064081.
  • [Networking (known issue)] Fixed: An issue occurred where web servers using HTTP.sys (such as Internet Information Services [IIS]) rejected incoming HTTP requests with a “NOT_SUPPORTED” error.

Windows 11 servicing stack update (KB5067035)- 26100.7010​

This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates. Known issues in this update​

1 Task Manager might continue running in the background after the app is closed

Symptoms

After installing this update, you might notice that closing Task Manager with the Close button doesn’t fully terminate the process. When you reopen Task Manager, the previous instance may still be running in the background, even though no window is visible. This can result in multiple instances of taskmgr.exe, which appear as Task Manager in the Processes tab and as taskmgr.exe in the Details tab. These lingering instances consume system resources and may affect device performance. While opening and closing Task Manager a few times has minimal impact, many instances accumulated over time can slow down other applications.

Workaround

This issue is addressed in KB5068861.

2 Password icon might be missing or invisible in the lock screen sign-in options

Symptoms

After installing the August 2025 non-security preview update (KB5064081) or later updates, you might notice that the password icon is not visible in the sign-in options on the lock screen. If you hover over the space where the icon should appear, you’ll see that the password button is still available. Select this placeholder to open the password text box and enter your password. After entering your password, you can sign in normally.

Individuals using Windows Home or Pro editions on personal devices are very unlikely to experience this issue. This issue primarily affects enterprise or managed IT environments.

Workaround

This issue is mitigated using Known Issue Rollback (KIR).

For enterprise-managed devices managed by IT departments that have installed the affected update and encountered this issue, IT administrators can resolve it by installing and configuring the Group policy listed below. The special Group Policy can be found in Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > <Group Policy name listed below>.

Important: You will need to install and configure the Group Policy for your version of Windows to resolve this issue. You will also need to restart your device(s) to apply the group policy setting. Note that the Group Policy will temporarily disable the change causing this issue.

Install this update

Method 1: Install all MSU files together
Download all MSU files for KB5067036 from Microsoft Update Catalog and place them in the same folder (for example, C:/Packages).   2. windows11.0-kb5067036-x64_199ed7806a74fe78e3b0ef4f2073760000f71972.msu

4 This latest cumulative update includes updates for AI components. Even though the AI component updates are included in the update, the AI components are only applicable to Windows Copilot+ PCs and will not install on Windows PC or Windows Server.

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

This update installed today on one of our Huawei MateBook E's and we have lost multiple display... It just doesn't detect the second screen any more! The adapter and monitor are working as I tested them with my phone... It's very annoying! But I see there's a potential issue if we uninstall the update? Thanks

This behavior is suspicious. Makes me wonder if my RAM is faulty and went faulty just some months after it passed all tests, or the processor RAM controller is faulty. Or CDN problems.

I was able to resolve the problem by using the Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices download, instead of the Create Windows 11 Installation Media download.

The Media Creation Tool gives you the Install.esd, while the Disk image ISO gives you the install.wim. I guess the .WIM is better than the .ESD file.

The last time, at least once, if not twice, before getting the newest with MCT, DISM with scanhealth was a fail, even with '6899.
It was OK, after I started over with the newest MCT media. But, I didn't even try to install '6901 this time.

I never saw 0x800f0983 on the daily-driver. Both the October updates went smooth! That's the July 8, 2025 installation that does have some strange stuff going on, including a strange watchdog report for the August patch-Tuesday, where Windows does not indicate a real stop error, but it's complaining about a bugcheck via "livedump". This is where it feels like it turned into a canary!

There could be numerous PCs with 24H2 having that issue with the August patch-Tuesday. No corruption found when I did the usual scans and no Windows Update error code for the cumulative update of August.

Was it actually throwing a fit, just because there was a delayed restart, likely caused by software not closing?

The only difference between install.wim and install.esd in the compression that makes the .esd file smaller.
Unfortunately, with latest windows 11 Builds even the install.esd can be bigger that the 4GiB, which is the limit that can be accepted with a FAT32 file system.
In that case MCT still splits the install.esd into install.swm and install2.swm with a size of each file lower than 4GiB so that they can be stored on a FAT32 file system.
Anyway, to do an update repair in place you don't need the bootable installation media on a FAT32 USB.
You can just open the ISO with file explorer and run the setup.exe directly from the ISO.
Nothing new with that. 😉🤷‍♂️

When I create 7019 ISO with uudump and try to update my current 25H2 6901 installations with it, I always get the only option to install with "Keep nothing" because "You are trying to install older version of Windows". When I do the clean install with this ISO, I get 7019, so I can't understand what happened

I mounted the ISO that Media Creation Tool creates for you and it always had the install.esd file in the sources folder. I did an in place install with that one and then tried the Preview Update (KB5067036) (26200.7019) and it failed.

The next day I did another in place install this time with the Disk Image ISO that has the install.wim file in the sources folder and the Preview Update (KB5067036) (26200.7019) installed.

The direct ISO Multiedition x64 is still at Build 26200.6584, while the one built by MCT is 26200.6899, that may be the reason why you had the problem with one versus the other. There is no functional difference between install.wim and install.esd, but clearly if they are at different build number is like comparing apples and oranges. 🤣🤣

You could have just use the repair version from System > Recovery, that worked for many users that had update errors.

I've obtained a CFR key through multiple clean installs on virtual machines, but the key I get each time is different (it's somewhat random). I found an improved CFR key for Task Manager grouping, which will also fix Task Manager issues.

I tested Dev build 26220.7051. It also solves this problem.

The 1st one was already enabled in 26200.7019, so I just enabled the second one ViVetool ID: 49407484 (CFR RKey: 4188347533)and testing it now.

I started and closed Task Manager several times and I see only one Taskmgr.exe process running in the details.
Looks like the fix is working for this case. 👍

Microsoft's implementation of CFR technology is really terrible. If this change improves the user experience, Microsoft should enable the same feature in the public release and maintain consistency across all users.

I installed version 26200.7019 on a VM about 30 times, and finally, one of them didn't have the TM problem.

Microsoft will access Level 4 override; I actually compared the differences in the CFR Key obtained each time.

Microsoft will also telemetry information to determine which CFR keys are enabled or disabled on your system. They will leave TelemetryFlags values in the registry.

This is why some users don't have the TM problem. Because the CFR combination obtained by each user is not the same.

I hate the CFR!
