Improvements​

This security update contains fixes and quality improvements from KB5074109 (released January 13, 2026). KB5077744 (released January 17, 2026), and KB5078127 (released January 24, 2026). The following summary outlines key issues addressed by this update. Also, included are available new features. The bold text within the brackets indicates the item or area of the change.
  • [Gaming] Fixed: This update addresses an issue that determines device eligibility for the full-screen gaming experience.
  • [Networking] Fixed: This update addresses an issue that prevented some devices from connecting to certain WPA3‑Personal Wi‑Fi networks. The issue might occur after you install KB5074105.
  • [Secure Boot] With this update, Windows quality updates include a broad set of targeting data that identifies devices and their ability to receive new Secure Boot certificates. Devices will receive the new certificates only after they show sufficient successful update signals, which helps ensures a safe and phased rollout.
If you've already installed previous updates, your device will download and install only the new updates included in this package.

Method 1: Install all MSU files together

Download all MSU files for KB5077181 from Microsoft Update Catalog and place them in the same folder (for example, C:/Packages). DISM will use the folder specified in PackagePath to discover and install one or more prerequisite MSU files as needed.

  2. windows11.0-kb5077181-x64_33d38563662e659ceb84fb8b65aa05ce5876f5a4.msu
1 This latest cumulative update includes updates for AI components. Even though the AI component updates are included in the update, the AI components are only applicable to Windows Copilot+ PCs and will not install on Windows PC or Windows Server.

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

Me on the other hand don't use a phone for this medium. Not practical. Got a sore thumb by using that medium in the past. No I can see the whole post clearly on my company's financed 55" monitor. They offered me a two screen solution at home. No. Me: do not want! I took a risk by asking for a 55" monitor instead. After a long debat they gave their OK to me. And to answer TraderGary question: Your right, and if you must know I am not a drinking guy. Only during my time when I was young and unemployed yes. But now? Don't touch that stuff under any condition. I like water. That is what I am using now. Not coffee, red bull and other sugar containing stuff. Once, as an experiment, I poured a liter of regular cola into an old pan and brought it to a boil until all the water had evaporated. What remained was black sludge; sugar in a different form. When I saw that amount? I was cured for good! Done with that crap for the rest of my life!

Not sure what you want here.

Suffice to say all working here on this build including the Ms store, Office 2021 and a few other apps like VLC -- use the one from Videolan, not from the store as it's far better.

Hi Jimbo,

To clarify things. Have you noticed some issues after the 7840 update? As I can see now apparently not. I am also using Office 2021. (Paid for 2013, 2019, and 2021) Had an illegal working version of 2024 on a VM. I could not see any difference with 2021. So I thought not worth to pay for an extra 2024 version. I'll stick to 2021 for now.

There is no way that I will fall into MS trap with their cloud based 365. I thought to be clever. I bought a 365 key though a online retailer for a couple of bucks. I had the key and used that on their MS site. Unknown... What? Went back to the online retailer for answers. There was a catch behind it all. I had to log into the retailers server with a common account that many people also got. Then register myself with that key and I could then use that 365 account. Great my personal e-mails are on two servers then; The retailers and MS in theory. I took my loss and walked away. After that I looked into the mirror. I saw one word imprinted on my forehead; DEMMACS... :cautious:

I got that on 4 machines months ago even before Build 26200.7840, but the 5th one is still waiting for Microsoft to make up their mind with those silly CFRs.
I still have the old Start menu on this one. 😵‍💫🤣🤷‍♂️
I can enable it with vivetool, but I'm waiting to see how long Microsoft will take to roll it out. 😝🤷‍♂️

You can try playing with the scaling, mainly increasing it to try to get the small new menu. Results vary for different people. I have the large menu on two machines and the small new menu with scrollable pinned items on the little Surface Laptop.

Sometimes it just takes a little time to get use to a change - I will see how it goes. Thanks for reminding me that there is tweak option if I want it.

The advantage of the large 8 column menu is all your pinned items can be displayed without scrolling but some hate the look lol. The size doesn't bother me and I just go with the best fit for the particular PC screen although it would be nice if MS gave us the option to pick the size.

That's what I meant; MS Office 365 in the cloud. (Is there an other cloud based 365?) You can use it but you have to pay for a monthly subscription. I bought MS Office 2021 for just one-time price. No monthly subscriptions here.... (No updates either) And as things are going now I don't want to store my data into an American cloud.

It is NOT cloud based, subscription yes. MSO2021 did not buy you 1TB of storage, and you don't have to store anything in any cloud. Applications are downloaded and are running on your personal physical machine just as before.

Well, that is how I use it. All my Office apps are on my PC, even Outlook is used with a locally stored PST file, and I never use the Cloud based apps. None of my Word or Excel files have ever lived on, or been to, the Microsoft Server.

I do however have my OneNote Notebooks on OneDrive, that is so I have access to those Notebooks on my three mobile devices. My 1TB OneDrive is all but empty.
