I wanted to see if I could turn Smart App Control off and back on, and it is OFF now. I cannot enable it. That might be better anyway. :)

But mines been set to OFF ever since MS thought of Smart App Control.
The other options are greyed out for me too... just the way I like it. :-)

This is why I really do not care about updates. From September 2025 to now, majority of the Gradual rollout features I never have received.

Unfortunately I did get the new horrible Start Menu that I greatly dislike, but none of the features that I wanted to see or use.

I do not have this teasing problems in Linux. Features are features, not wait-n-see-features. But I am still a Windows person.

This update because it touches several deep system components requiring staged installation, which is why many of you are seeing multiple reboots.

I have a Microsoft 365 Business subscription which lists in the admin panel in detail what changes are being made to Azure, Microsoft 365 and Windows. These includes significant under the hood changes in Windows not listed in the current Windows Consumer updates release notes. There is nothing radical or alarming in these under the hood changes.

I made some notes on registry changes to change the state of smart app control. Up to you if you want to try it out.

Check and see. I have all three options, On, Evaluate and Off. Off is the only option active. I cannot select the others.

I read in the past that this actually does not enable (turn on) the Smart App Control feature, unless that is wrong. I stopped modifying the registry a while ago to turn it on.

Not with the new change they're implementing. We'll be able to turn it on and off without a Windows reinstall. Supposed to be rolling out in this build but you know how that goes.
