Thank you.
I asked my question in that thread three days ago as I did not see the shortcut there.
As there were no replies, I wondered if my question was better off in a thread of its own.

Unless someone corrects me, it looks like the shortcut I am after does not exist.

Hey, farter, :)

I'm not sure this is the answer to your question, because I'm not sure exactly what you're after. But try this:

Whatever text editor you use (Notepad, Notepad++, NoteTab, whatever) create a shortcut to its executable, then move/copy that shortcut to the All Apps folder ("C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs") so it will be in the Start set of shortcuts, then right click > Properties and give it a hotkey combination (CAX or CSX), and restart Explorer.

Then when you're in a folder (or wherever), if you hit the hotkey, you'll have an open, blank text page waiting for your input.

Will that answer your need?

No there is no shortcut key for that.

@Wisewiz
That did the trick.
I mapped it to CTRL/SHIFT/T
It then takes about 3 seconds for the blank text file to appear.

@FreeBooter
Thanks for your answers.

Darn it. The blank text file appears and after writing in it and giving it a name, when I go to save, it does not automatically save into the folder I have opened. It wants me to choose a location that takes many more clicks than if I had just r/clicked in the folder and chosen a new text file.

@Wisewiz
Is there a step/modification I can do to your instructions, to get the new text file to generate & save inside the open folder?

Well, yes, it occurs to me that a .bat file or a script might be writeable that does what you want, but I'm not up to even attempting that. It wouldn't be able to give a novel name to the saved file automatically, though. You'd have to name it.

You should be able to set your text editor's defaults to always save to a specified folder. That way, you could open the text editor with a shortcut click, write your note and hit Save (or maybe just Close, if you set the text editor to autosave on Close), and you'd then always know where the latest note was, and could easily move it to another folder with a context menu "Move to folder" command (see Brink's tutorial on that), or a ribbon "Move to" click if you use the ribbon still (see Brink's tutorial for that: Replace Command Bar...).

you can start with downloading this;

when you find a script, save it as AutoHotkeyU64.ahk , replace AutoHotkeyU64.exe in same folder. Run AutoHotkeyU64.exe
script will work. You can start to try it. You can edit it.

After you finished your script ;
AutoHotkey\Compiler\Ahk2Exe.exe > you can compile your ahk script to an .exe file so you wont need AutoHotkeyU64.exe anymore.

@Feuer
That looks a bit too advanced for me.
I would have given it a bash but I now find I don't have to.

Through other Threads in the Forum, I have been able to revert back to the Windows 10 style of right-clicking. (as well as the Explorer ribbon).
It is now just one right-click & then one left-click inside a folder to produce a text file, in the same folder. (as it used to be).

I thank you all for your help.
