It didnt for me or i wouldn't have mentioned it.

No need to lose your shirt bud. I have no problem with someone replying to me by stating whatever it is works for them if I've posted something isn't working at my end. I take it as interesting feedback which could mean the issue is localised at my end with either my PC or internet connection etc.

:-)

No need to lose your shirt bud. I have no problem with someone replying to me by stating whatever it is works for them if I've posted something isn't working at my end. I take it as interesting feedback which could mean the issue is localised at my end with either my PC or internet connection etc.

:-)
For me it is simpler: It doesn't work for me then it just doesn't like me. Keeping things up and personal keeps them interesting.

What also needs to be in that list is how 24H2 also breaks NAS connections.

Yeah, I know this isn't a "bug" per se, but if you're running a NAS, and especially one using SMB version 1, this update will break connections and mapped drives to your NAS. And BTW, it will also cause problems even if one is NOT running SMB 1.0

See this...

a little disappointing that certain older Asus devices (in this case certain old laptops) can't reliably run Win11 24H2 :(
My X555LA works great after i forced it to eat H4, my X99 setup flies.

No need to lose your shirt bud. I have no problem with someone replying to me by stating whatever it is works for them if I've posted something isn't working at my end. I take it as interesting feedback which could mean the issue is localised at my end with either my PC or internet connection etc.

It was meant only as constructive feedback, it wouldn't be the first time a duff link was posted due to the original author updating it, no shirts lost here.

My X555LA works great after i forced it to eat H4, my X99 setup flies.
My X99 runs 7 and 8 just fine but I had my reasons for avoiding Win 10 on that particular platform. I am still very unimpressed by what Windows did with Windows 11, making nearly 85% of the domestic end user market obsolete. I'm certain the Consortium loved it. I can appreciate a 20 year old PC not being compliant with a newer OS; but with Win 11 many newer platforms (some not even 3 years old) could not effectively run Win 11. 'Twas a real Jerkazz move on the part of Microsnot & Co. IMO.

Corporate write offs are one thing, but when the domestic enthusiast dumps thousands into a PC they want to see it reach close that two decade mark before it starts regurgitating newer operating systems. Software needs to be compliant with existing hardware. This isn't a which came first argument. Admittedly, ten thousand dollars isn't much money these days but when a domestic end user puts that kind of coin into a PC they want their PC to last longer than 7 years.

So now we have Windows distros entering the scenario, which I find rather cute. One might think this would be Microsoft's flagship opportunity to correct some of these 'compatibility issues' but as time marches on it does not appear to be the case. Myself, I can hardly blame those individuals who go "rogue", opting for modified versions of Windows which allegedly violate copy write laws. Microsoft ought to be commended for their outstanding encouragement in this regard. From my vantage point they have done precious little to help, for example, a user with a 5 year old laptop that isn't compliant with Win 11 but runs Windows 10 just fine.

As it currently stands I'm typing on an X99 desktop platform using a semi-legitimate OS downloaded directly from Microsoft. I did have a laptop running 24H2 but have since rolled back to 23H2 for obvious reasons. I already know Microsoft will never help me with my driver issues on this X99 platform from ASUS. I am grateful that Microsoft provided instructions on how to make Windows 11 run on a non-compliant system and I'm aware that I do this at my own risk. Those little yellow bangs in device manager are there to remind me how wonderful Windows 11 really is. In the meanwhile Windows 12 sits on the horizon and this old man is about to go ROGUE.
