Thanks Bree ...I just remembered back some years ago there was a lot of talk about leaving them on verses turning them off ..but I don't remember why.
With older OS's like XP or older it was a good idea to shut down and restart regularly. Memory leaks and the like could end up slowing the PC to a standstill if you didn't.

It doesn't seem much of a problem for W10/11 (not unless you run some poorly written 3rd party software, that is). Almost all my other PCs I hibernate when not in use, so technically their OS never gets shut down either. They only get a restart once a month, and then only because it's Patch Tuesday.

The spindle bearings on HHD will seize when they cool down after they get some age this does not happen if they are on 24/7
Yeah, that too....

Evening Marie, nice choice of a Garfield :lmao:

My day has been quite relaxed, and the evening was spent watching the last 4 episodes of Dr Who Series 2, a story arc called The Time Meddler. For some reason that one particular story line had stuck in my mind all these years, it was nice to be able to watch it for a second time at last (albeit some 58 years later). :D

..The Time Meddler was voted the second-best First Doctor story by Doctor Who Magazine readers in 2020; writer Emma Reeves cited the conflict between the Doctor and the Monk, and the serial's reinvention of several elements that would later define the show.

Oh, I'm definitely in a Dr Who mode

It's the 60th anniversary this year, and I can claim to have watched every episode since the first one in 1963 (I wasn't quite a teenager back then, but I was hooked from the start).
