Apologies if this has been posted before. Thread too long to go through it all.

This is something new to me. Decided to run the AMD auto detect and install tool. Which worked fine.
On the start list it shows AMD install Manager which opens to this,

and then this

If the auto updater works then it's pretty neat I think.

The RadeonSoftware.exe is situated at C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext\RadeonSoftware.exe if you want to create a shortcut or pin to start.

If the auto updater works then it's pretty neat I think.

It works but may be some delay, days or even weeks since it becomes available on AMD site. It also by default installs icon in Hidden icons on Taskbar and as an APP in Start menu. A side effect is that once in a while, there's a popup Command prompt (DOS) window even if there's no update. Just sits there doing nothing.

Also coming in July 2026 (finally) is FSR4.1 for 7000 series GPUs. 6000 series get it in 2027. AMD had to be dragged kicking and screaming into this change.

Seems like it is specifically for 6000 and 7000 series GPUs only. Will have to wait for the official confirmation when AMD release the drivers in July.

AMD software is getting rather large and loading far too many unnecessary services and way too much network traffic when it is sitting there doing nothing

Uninstalled the AMD Adrenalin software and went back to just the Windows Update provided driver and all is quiet now. Whatever happened to the AMD option of driver only install?

Once you setup everything, you can uninstall it, settings should stick, they do even upon the update.
I disable everything related to it afterwards, you can remove old drivers using DriverStoreExplorer.

I noticed that RAPR thought that a 2025 AMD Audio Coprocessor driver was newer than the latest 2026 driver but I forced deleted the older one (it was currently in use), rebooted so the O.S picked up the later driver so now is all good except.... now I am looking at all the nonsense that Asus has loaded... between AMD and Asus, it is bigger in file size than Win XP and consumes more memory and CPU time than needed to send a manned mission to the moon

I have had to reload from scratch after the last 2 updates screwed the 100MB EFI partition that had 69% used space so MS obviously wanted to put something in there around 30MB or greater in size and that is the reason for the updates failing. No easy task to fix that so a fresh install was in order hence me noticing all this crap going on. It was taken care of in the previous installation but reared its ugly head again with a vengeance. Dumb and dumber must be the prerequisites for working in software companies lately - forcing all this crap that nobody asks for and nobody wants onto our PCs. Don't get me started on AI.... or telemetry.... or "security" updates that are all really just a noose tightening around our necks
