I don't want to jinx it, but I am running the standard release Firefox 149 without issues. Not sure if I have played YouTube videos yet, but full screen videos of TV channels play my favorite series fine without lag or visual artifacts. Not sure if this makes any difference but since version 145 Firefox switched to the Windows Apps SDK method (according to Google AI) to display the web content and this always causes Firefox crashing and terminating when I try to switch to full screen. So in my previous post I described how to toggle a specific setting false (not present in 144 and earlier versions) to switch back to the old drawing method. Maybe you should try it too.

PS: Just tested YouTube, it plays fine, no lag, no artifacts.

I tried it and noticed no change, I was not having any issues with YouTube but wanted to see if it was better. The bug report should possibly do something.👍

I read in a link provided in an earlier post about this bug that it occurs when you watch YouTube, minimize for a while and then restore the Window. I tried that, no issues, so probably the change I did worked.

Yes, there is an option to buy VPN. I don't want to buy it, I would like to try the free version.

That is the mobile VPN , the VPN included with Firefox 149 and Mozilla VPN are two different things. It's not a big deal , just wanted a chance to see what was under the hood, I already own a lifetime subscription to a major VPN for those wondering.

For those concerned , VPN's are used for a whole host of other things besides torrent downloading and it plays a big party in ones privacy regime when needed.

Anyone noticed when you click on the pinned to taskbar icon of Firefox that it opens another icon on the taskbar? If so how did you fix it?

Just to note (not sure if this has already been clarified), the Firefox 149 VPN feature is not an ordinary VPN. This VPN only tries to protect the browsing traffic within Firefox only (not the entire computer like NordVPN and other providers). There are limitations to this VPN.

So it is not available in all countries yet and it doesn't even appear as a grayed (disabled) option unless you login with a Mozilla account, that's why we cannot find it in settings. It would be more user friendly if there was a grayed option with the tooltip text "You need to login to use it", or "Not available in your country" so we know what to do.

I agree, that would eliminate confusion on why features do not appear.

I had to re-install Firefox 149.0 before and the VPN button appeared on the top right corner and I had not logged in to my Mozilla account yet. I hide the VPN option because I already use a VPN.

I don't have anymore issues.. it's been awhile since I last had that issue with YouTube I mentioned.. Glad it's resolved for now.

I run the initial 149 version. I saw a message to upgrade to 149.0.2 but I didn't have time to do it, so I will probably do it tomorrow. Since VPN is not available in Greece yet I don't expect to see the button.
