I had a problem recently with Firefox not streaming video from sites such as BBC (BBC iPlayer) etc.
Seems everything is OK these days -- I suspect that I had some codec missing.

No need to install any addons or extras.

Glad it's working both on Linux and Windows (Enterprise insider canary build) as I prefer it to edge and google-chrome.

It's actually working

I had excluded it from the VPN tunnelling list -- i.e where when using a VPN you can exclude specific applications from being under control of VPN -- i.e like local disks on your home network.

Ouside the UK you need a VPN to access some BBC iPlayer programs and live sport -- been watching (or trying to) the World chamoinship snooker.
