I agree, sadly Macrium 8.1 doesn't support ARM64 PC's so that one I had to subscribe to ver 10 and I hate subscription software.

Believe it or don't but corporate greed does exist and is often a factor. I doubt the extra subscription money is going to the low end code writers. My guess is the top execs are reaping those benefits.

I wanted Macrium Reflect X and for me the value was there, so I subscribed.

I purchased lifetime license of Malwarebytes right before they went to Subscription based. . . I will not pay for a subscription based software. I'll find it elsewhere.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I'm still on version 8.1.8325 and got an update available notice. Can I just update straight to 8.1.8631 or do I need to update to 8.1.8595 ( with the error message) first before updating to 8.1.8631? Thanks Mitch.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

Thanks very much. I'll update our PC's. I would imagine I would also need to update the Macrium Boot Menu and Rescue USB at the same time?

That would be a good idea, but not strictly necessary. The old rescue media should still work.

Macrium generally warn in the release notes when a bug fix is sufficiently important that a rebuild of the rescue media is recommended. They haven't done so for some time.

If you are updating your boot media, USB Thumbdrive, I like to alternate between two Thumb drives. This way you know the older Working one is intact ( and bootable) until you have tested the new one.

It is now a year since Reflect X was released.

Reflect v8 reached the end of Extended Support on 8th October 2025. No further updates are expected after v8.1.8631.

Hi. I had to uninstall Reflect v8 paid before doing a clean install. Does anyone have a link to redownload Reflect 8 as everything seems to be redirected to Reflect X? Thanks.
