@CountMike I got a taskbar notification while I was doing something else then checked for updates so I could post the Screenshot but there are no official patch/release notes posted on the Macrium site yet.

Yesterday I updated MR on both my systems to 8.1.7762. Bad idea!! Neither system can now access daily file backups to a network drive. This morning I rolled the Win 10 system to a 3 day old pre-update image running 8.1.7675 and access was restored. Now need to do same with Win 11 laptop. Be warned!!

Successfully rolled W11 system back to 8.1.7675 and backup access now restored there too. 7762 definitely has a bug.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.
After the update, I made a new rescue USB, then tested it (as I always do), and it didn't work. Formatted that flash drive (FAT32) and re-did the "create rescue media" thing. Tested. Wouldn't work. Tried it on my other machine. Wouldn't work. Got out my second (backup) MR rescue USB (made by the pre-update version 7675) and tried it on both machines. Worked perfectly.

Haven't updated System 2 yet, so I think I'll overwrite the new rescue USB using the un-updated MR JIC I need a working one sometime..

I've not yet seen any comments on the rescue media made by the new update. Anybody tested a new one?

I did. The 1st one didn't work.
I remade it after formatting the USB stick to Fat32. That one worked.

@Ghot Thank you. I reformatted and created the rescue USB from 7675, and it works perfectly on both machines. I think I'm with @pietcorus2, I'm going to push the 7762 machine back to 7675 for now, and hope Macrium gets enough fedback so that we see a new update soon.
One thing I forgot to mention, when I updated MR on System 1 and started to build a new rescue USB, the first thing I noticed was a notice at the top of the panel that said I needed to refresh the rescue environment Said the new version was with 7675. Curious. I clicked Build, and it ran a bit and reported success. Then I made the USBs that didn't work as reported in #612 above.

Restored 7675 from last night's MR image. No problem. Had to skip two files that were in use (probably having to do with context menu and UI Watcher ?), but they probably hadn't changed in the new version. I'll have to see whether MR is going to drive me cazy with update notifications, but "So far, so good!" (as the man who jumped off a forty-storey building shouted as he flew past the twentieth floor).

I seem to be ok, I created new boot media (ntfs partition on external ssd) and it loads fine.

Ever since the first failed attempt to boot (test) from the new rescue USB, each time I boot or restart (without the USB in the port, of course), after the machine logo, I get a blue screen that offers me the choice of Windows 11 OS or Macrium Reflect System Recovery. Has a five second timer. Offers "Change default," but I've tried that and get nowhere. I think the solution to getting rid of the "options" screen is in the UEFI/BIOS settings, but I can't find anything out of the ordinary in there. Help sincerely appreciated.
