I've forgotten, because this thread has grown so long: Which computer are you having this RE problem on -- the ASUS or the HP? Probably not relevant, but I just thought to ask, so that I, too, can do some Net scratching.

You've mentioned the 2GB RAM a couple of times, so it can't be the Acer.

Pursuing Ken's line of thought, What happens when you right-click Start, then hold down Shift, and click Restart? Do you get the whole available series of blue screen choices?

Macrium just responded with this daft statement, "The reason for the machine not booting into RE is you are not able to create a 32-bit WinRE rescue media. As the machine is 32-bit you will need to create the rescue media as PE 32-bit.

So I sent them a screenshot.

I apologise and I suppose I should not even post in this forum. The laptop is my system three, described under System 1, additional info. It dates from 2014 and has a 64bit CPU but a 32-bit BIOS.

Okay. So if you boot in RE environment does it boot correctly. (Not through Macrium, jusy palin old boot to RE) ?

I will try to boot into Windows RE. The battery went flat, so that laptop is on charge...
Macrium support finally suggested this too.

I very rarely have any errors when making a Macrium backup as it is so reliable but today Macrium decided it didn't want to backup to one of my 3 drives, 1st two attempts Blue screened & 3rd attempt posted below but after switching to another Backup Drive and attempting a new Backup the Backup & Verification phases completed successfully.

That suggests your backup drive is potentially failing.

Check disk health status.

Macrium are now telling me that if I can't boot into MR in the RE environment it's a problem with RE, not MR.

But I have shown them that I CAN boot into RE. Also MR starts to load after RE has loaded, so they are making no sense.

I will keep hectoring them after paying for four licenses! (I think support has expired but this is their problem, not mine.

It's now 5 days since the last post (#855 Thursday 7th Dec) and no new issues appearing. Does this mean the Macrium issues in this thread are now fixed?

I am asking because I am considering buying 1-licence but don't want to buy a troublesome product. Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783 works fine for me but I am looking to support Paramount.

I can only speak for myself but haven't has any issues. I always backup/restore via the recovery F/drives rather than through Windows. One is RE and one is PE.
Backup weekly and one laptop is 7 yrs old the others are newer. This is Home paid for Macrium.

Macrium support told me today me that my issue has been escalated to the developers. Will update if I get any useful feed back.
