Solved Latest Macrium Reflect 8 updates


I've had Macrium Reflect Home v8 since April 2020, Do see the offer for 50 percent off for Life Annual plan, which probably will take advantage of as soon as i can here.

Don't think my other program auto renews by June 2025 as bought that program on Amazon June 2024.

Main reason why considering just sticking to Macrium seems like less background processes for starters for the lower end other 2 systems.

Well, I was already doing that in v8. It's only a little harder, you have to write the names and/or wildcards into the registry, rather in a GUI that X provides.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

My annual subscription for Reflect X is only $49 USD and that's for 4 licenses. I suppose that could be prohibitive for some.

I have a 3-year plan for Reflect X Home that cost me nothing... well... nothing that is except trading in a recently bought v8 licence. That v8 licence cost me £58. The renewal for a further 3 years will be £100 in October 2027.

Do you really need to upgrade all five. I had 5 licences (1 single + 4 pack).

I only really use Reflect a lot on my main device so I traded 1 single licence for £18 pa (50% off).

My other devices are more static - I rarely do any changes other than WU updates.
V8 is fine for them.

Obviously, your needs may differ.

It may be worth waiting for the Black Friday Sale when they update the page soon, but I'm not very confident that it will be much good this year.

People with existing v8 keys may not benefit monetarily, but at least it may be a way to get a better deal without forfeiting their existing keys.

I bought the 4 license pack several years ago. I only back up my computer and Kate's. The 4 pack was almost the same price as two individual licenses back then. I've got two licenses that I've never used.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

Good find! That is a genuine Macrium URL, but with that 'liveweb2' prefix not one that is publicly visible anywhere on the macrium.com website.

Don't waste your time.
Look for something else. There is always something else around the corner.

One motive for purchasing a Reflect v8 perpetual licence would be to trade it in immediately for a 3 year Reflect X plan at no extra cost. Possibly the cheapest way to do so, especially as a Reflect X 3-year plan is not available any other way at present.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 8GB RAM, 1TB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds (and a few others) as a native boot .vhdx.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.
