I took Edge off working in the background and it cleared up a couple annoying problems. One was waking my PC up from sleep and Edge just would not start, period. I forgot the other problem, it was minor relative to the first problem. :-) Sometimes multiple problems pop up so I forget some of them and usually a fix cures them all.

I hope MS removes this nutty Copilot stuff; I really do not need their AI help. AI is a boat load of smelly horse stuff anyway. Let those who want all the nutty extra stuff pay for it.

Of course, you should use what you like. I moved from Chrome to Edge over two years ago and I don't experience these problems. I like Edge and use it on both of my computers and on my Android phone.

No, I've never seen that pop-up before you displayed it.

When I started driving gas was usually around 25 cents a gallon. They used to have frequent gas wars back then and I remember the low price was once 7 cents a gallon and I filled my tank for $1.00 USD. Obviously, I'm old, very old.

Same here for my stable version and this one updating in the background which is strange as the background updates are usually for my Canary installation. But it does say stable app on beta channel which is weird.

It's odd what's happened. Usually if you run any insider Edge versions they run along side the Official build. I don't see that setting.

My guess is that because I run Win11 Beta, MS assumed I would want Edge "Beta" as well.... But that's just a guess....

I have the same screen as well when I checked which wasn't there when I responded earlier, even though we both had the same exact build earlier. So it seems they are replacing the stable installs with test builds as well for being on Windows Insiders Beta like you said.
