Just connect the reset button plug into the power switch headers on the motherboard. I have one Lian Li PC case that is wired like that after the power switch died. Reset button is not needed.
Never leave you PC on!

Storage on portable hard drive attached to USB 3.0 router port. (Movies, Music, and files)

Everything is on a Oupes 2400 2250 watt hour power station. Champion 11,000 watt inverter Tri-Fuel generator using circuit breaker panel interlock.

"momentary" is hardware specification. "holding down" is operation.

I'm referring to post #8 and connecting the wires. I'm in the habit of replying as I read a post. Just connecting wires in my book is a no no especially if the are not meant to stay connected.

yeah, it is not meant to be connected in a closed loop.

I run a scheduled Macrium backup every night and Macrium shuts the PC down afterwards. During the day, the monitor will go dark after 2 hours of being idle.

I think Windows needs to be restarted at least occasionally.

Denon Dolby Atmosphere sound system with 7.3.2 (3subs and 9 speakers).
Storage on portable hard drive attached to USB 3.0 router port. (Movies, Music, and files)

I shut my machines off at the end of the day. We live in a neighborhood with buried power lines, but before that means above ground and through many trees so just down the road is where the power company will be when the power is out. Methinks they enjoy playing amongst the trees in their aerial lift.

I don't know if leaving the wires connected will cause a problem or not. I do know that they had a reason to use a momentary contact switch.

If you put it in closed loop, it is like pressing and holding the power button to perform a hard reset. The moment you plug-in your computer, it will force itself to do a hard reset until your motherboard detects a boot failure and probably corrupt your CMOS or gives you a BSOD.
