Solved Login with no return

Since the last update when I login with my pin, my windows home screen comes up immediately when I enter the final character of the pin. No return key required. This seems unsafe to me since if I enter the wrong pin the length of my pin is revealed.

The PIN can only be used by someone actually sitting at your computer and is only stored locally.

My PIN is 16 characters long. I'm confident nobody else is going to guess it.

The dots don't show any longer than usual.

It's been like that for a while. Type rubbish in and when the amount of characters reach the correct amount it changes to the 'PIN is incorrect' error.

I guess it depends on your environment, but, I cannot recall a single instance of someone else being present while I was logging on to any device!
I don't worry about it, if somebody wants to stand over my shoulder and count the dots, have at er!

I'm right there with you, Edwin. We ain't skeered. I'm all for security and safety, take the necessary measures to protect myself, and compute smartly, but so many people seem to become paranoid about it. IMO if one worries too much, it can get to the point where one limits himself as well as make it so a computer is no longer an enjoyment, but a chore.

However, it was not my intention to belittle the OP's concern..., she may, for example, operate in a densely populated work environment with, perhaps, some untrustworthy sorts milling about! 🤷‍♂️

I've been thinking about this and I don't remember ever having to hit enter after typing in my pin number to start Windows. I do have to hit enter on my phone. IMHO and I could be wrong, without someone seeing the pin number or even a part of it I don't see it as being a increased security risk.
