Purchased this logitech m575 mouse off amazon site. I have bought m570 mouses previously before off amazon. When I went and opened the packaging, there was some instructions and paper that said



Connection and Use of this Communications Equipment Is Permitted by the Nigerian Communications Commission



Is this normal? Why would it have something that says this? I bought it off amazon directly and it was shipped directly from amazon and not a 3rd party. When I googled this and logitech, it does show these words. Anyone know what this is exactly? I don't recall it had packaging inside that said something like this about Nigeria when I bought previous mouses off amazon from logitech the m570 a while back. But this is normal right? I don't think they sell fake trackball mouses online on amazon at least this model?

I want to make sure this mouse is legit and not fake or anything related to that. But why is there a paper that says this though? It does mention something like this if you type that in and logitech.

Yea that is what someone else mentioned in that thread I created there. So normally it doesn't have that packaging with the words of Nigeria and all that right? So a small percentage of these orders from amazon site would have this? Like say if you were to order 10 of these exact mouse from amazon, how many you think would have this?

@pseymour is right. That mouse is not legitimate Logi. I'd send the thing back right now, ask for a replacement, and report it to Amazon while you're doing all that. Don't use it.

If its ok with the Nigerian Communications Commission, its probably safe to connect to your PC.

Its not like they would put their seal of approval to junkware.

I purchased this off amazon us site. I received it while in the us and received it very quickly as I had amazon prime if that matters.


The thing is when you google this and logitech, there is something on this so wanted to know exactly what this is as previous logitech m570 wireless mouse I bought never had this I don't believe. I rarely check the instruction paper but when it said Nigeria and all that, I wanted to know if I had a legit product or not. The packaging looks normal.

Is there a way to find out if it's a genuine logitech device? There is that code on the back of the mouse I believe.

I want to know if anyone here has ever gotten something like this before from a logitech mouse. Again, I was just browsing through the instructions and then noticed this and don't recall ever getting one of these things. Like if it was US or Canada Or Europe, okay I get it. But when it said Nigeria Communications Commission, that is when I thought never heard of anything like this ever.


Now if there is a batch that is made out there, surely someone on this forum who bought this mouse or any logitech mouse probably got this note in it? I want to make sure it's legit.

Pretty sure if it was fake it Logitech wouldn't allow it to be registered.

Also I bought the same mouse from Amazon Canada a month and a half ago and couldn't tell you if that was in the box or not as the only thing I took out was the mouse and the battery. The box has since been chewed up by my idiot dog (1 1/2 old lab that thinks all things cardboard are chew toys) and subsequently tossed in the recycling. Whether that notice was in it or not I have no idea, but the serial number registered no problem.
