Magnifier not working since BIOS upgrade

Ever since I upgraded my BIOS to American Megatrends International LLC 19.01.9/25/2025. SMBIOS Version 3.5, the Magnifier app will not launch by any method.

It is turned on in Settings, but pressing Win + + does nothing at all. Even if I go to C:\Windows\System32 and double-click Magnifier.exe, nothing happens.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you!

But all I see in C:\Windows\System32 is Magnify.exe

A BIOS update resets hardware configurations, which frequently triggers display and driver conflicts with Windows Accessibility features. Since the Magnifier relies heavily on graphics processing, try updating your graphics driver.

1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get the Nvidia WHQL vid card driver here... www.guru3d.com - Videocards - NVIDIA GeForce Windows 10 | 11 ...save this to your desktop.
3. Unhook the internet completely.
4. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
5. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install.
[See pics below]. If it want's to reboot, let it.
Rehook the internet.

Thank you both for the tips and instructions. I tried the simplest, which is the Magnify.exe file, you sent, Ghot, but it doesn't launch here either, so I'll try updating my Nvidia driver, glasskuter, following your suggested steps, Ghot. I'll let you know how it goes.

Awesome, thanks! btw, I just used the Studio Driver from the NVIDIA site and did a clean install without deleting the old drivers. I decided to try the easy way first and if it didn't work, then I would download DDU, but it wasn't necessary this time.

If you haven't already, make sure you do the "Disable drivers included in Windows Update".

Many times a driver included in WU will corrupt the already installed driver. Post #4, step 1.
