Hello, I bought a new pc. I also created a new Microsoft Account using @outlook.com
Now MS Edge uses that email, but I only use Gmail. Can it be changed?

When I find it.
I can hardly imagine that you would not be able to log in in your gmail account by typing gmail.com in the adress bar of Edge.

I myself don't have an Outlook account, but when I type gmail.com in the adress bar of Edge, my Gmail accounts all are visble and I could log in there (which I rather not do because I only use Gmail via Firefox).

Alternatively you could type: https://accounts.google.com/

It might be, that in Edge you click an email adress and edge is directly linking to your Outlook adress.
In that case you'll have to change the Mailto default.
As I have a Dutch system and don't know the exact English descriptions of the settings app, I have made a screenshot of the setting that is involved, but it's in Dutch:

It seems to me that you should be able to find the corresponding function in the language of your system.

Edge is a Microsoft product, if you’re logged into Edge it must be with a Microsoft Account. You can’t log into edge with a gmail account. (Making your gmail account an “alias” in your Microsoft account could be possible?)

You can log out of your Microsoft account in Edge and do what @Kees suggests with the mailto:
Then again if you fix the mailto: you shouldn’t need to log out

I don’t currently have a correct image in English but you can search mailto in settings

I have Edge on my system and am seldomly using it. But when I start it and try, as you say, to log in into Edge, I don't see waht has to be done. As far as I see there is no login in Edge.

One could make a profile / use the MS account to reach the profile, but that would only be to make a backup of the settings of Edge (or restore them).

But maybe there are options I did not notice in the settings app of Edge.

Isn't it still in > Settings/profiles? Log out of profile. I don’t use Edge anymore, to be honest I never really use to. Occasionally only… for Edgey stuff.

When I find it.
As I don't have a MS account I interpreted that as being for transferring Edge settings to another computer.
But does that influence the way Edge handles the mail links, especially when using a Gmailaccount?

Does it make the use of https://accounts.google.com/ impossible?
In that case I would never use Edge for any mailing or linking to mail adresses at all.
