Removing Edge doesn't break Windows Update, but you do have to break WU to keep Edge from coming back like a wart, (which usually happens at the most inconvenient possible time), so I guess we were both right.

Sorry but that' s not true either even as a joke.
This is for a system in the US, making Edge UNinstallable and not coming back!

Note: You will need to take ownership of this IntegratedServicesRegionPolicySet.json which resides in %windir%\system32
You will be able to edit the file with notepad or your favorite text editor.
Change: "disabled" to "enabled" in the first paragraph of the file as highlighted below.



A reboot is also needed.
The result will be:



There is another way which is to edit the same file but this time add "US" to the "enabled" list.

Uninstalling EDGE with REVO... breaks Windows update.
If I was less lazy, I'd go find the thread about it.

I tested this 3-4 times. But it was back before the EU changes.

No, the UK is not part of the European Economic Area (EEA) so, the UK is not subjected to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). In short: if you are in the UK you can not uninstall MS Edge, disable Bing in Windows Search or turn off Microsoft News feed and ads in the Widgets Board. If you’d managed to slip through the Chunnel, maybe it could work.

It is no longer the case.
Although I never uninstalled it using Revo, did not have to.

Thank you. So you mean if I took the laptop on a week-end trip to Lille and had location turned on it might work? I thought it would be from initial set up and language chosen maybe as well as location?
