Got this email from the Store

Hello,

Thank you for publishing your traditional desktop app to the Microsoft Store!

Partner Center has rolled out the IARC age rating system, a global rating and age classification system, for EXE and MSI apps. With IARC, you complete a single questionnaire about the content in your app during the app update submission on Partner Center and the IARC system will automatically assign regional and international age rating certificates to the Store listing for you.

Why is this needed?

This is required to aid customers in determining which apps are appropriate to download and to enhance our family safety features. The new Microsoft Store will be generally available soon and age ratings are required for EXE or MSI apps before it launches. Microsoft Store will only distribute apps that have an age rating at and after launch.

MS is pushing hard for this now (got a follow-up email today as reminder) - if you don't comply by the 25th Sept. your app gets removed. I guess security is the new buzzword around Redmond - not a bad thing mind you - I have already done mine for SMACC.
