I have been waiting for Microsoft to allow for deleting unused/unwanted apps from the Library. I know they keep your apps in case you want to install them again later...but there are many I don't intend to install. I really have to think now...everytime I want to install one...especially if there is a non-Microsoft store option. I just replaced my printer (an old Canon that had finally failed) with a new HP...I followed setup instructions that required "HP Smart" to be installed from Microsoft Store. I reluctantly did so and, even finding out after that there was a driver install program that wasn't MS Store...it seemed to be outdated...not sure if I would've had the same features with it over HP Smart. Anyways, and regardless, I'd be stuck with HP Smart in my library forever because I can't delete it. The same goes for old Canon app, and many other apps I "tried" but ended up not using...some from years ago. I wish Microsoft would let you delete apps you don't want...it now discourages me from wanting to try anything. Google/Android lets you...not sure about Apple. Has anyone heard if Microsoft will enable this feature...I'm not the only one who has complained.

I think this has been asked for a while already, best thing to do is file feedback via the Feedback Hub, but MS are usually slow to add functionality.

We've wondered about that since the Store's inception!
You can't even Hide them anymore!
Best is: set Sort by-Installed

What I don't get is... even the stupidest, chintzy, free garbage app, that you embarrassingly tried out years ago, still says: Purchased ... ! 🤷‍♂️

Yes. On my laptop two app that won't go away are Disney + and Spotify but they came preinstalled with it. Uninstalling the News app in all apps list also removed it from the Store library.
You can always sign in again if you find you need an app you installed years ago

The issue with Windows apps is that they are stored in a hidden folder tree that the user does not have easy access to. there are 3 rd party uninstallers that will allow you to remove unwanted apps, although Microsoft may occasionally reinstall them in a major update. I personally use Winaero Tweaker which has a number of options to remove unwanted apps and other annoyances like the ads that show up in sections of windows, and the recommended section of the start menu. The good thing is that each option they supply has an explanation of what the option does exactly so you can remove it if it causes you issues. and maybe try a variation of the instruction to remove OEM bloatware apps

I find the best way to treat these annoyances is to ignore them but it's good to have a nuclear option if needed ...
