You can also do that on other builds by uninstalling and reinstalling it from the MS store. It still installed as a core feature on the other builds.

I did have the "Start when Windows starts" turned off, but it got started anyway. So I re-enabled that and it still does not work. It says it is connected, but refresh does nothing. My phone shows at BlueTooth connected and I have never had a problem transferring files either way between phone to PC, so I know the connection between the 2 works.

I'm going to try "get-AppxPackage Microsoft.YourPhone -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage" and hopefully just be rid of the darned thing.

Well the command ran OK - let's see what happens after rebooting.

Well, interesting results:

1. PhoneLink appears to be gone (good riddance).
2. BlueTooth no longer shows my phone as a connected device.
3. BlueTooth will not show my phone as a device to get connected via BlueTooth.
4. My phone is connected to my PC OK via LAN - just like it always was.

I already have where I can lock the PC from Windows Link on the phone.

LOL, I guess cause they can. My concern with shutting down and restarting blindly from my phone would be what if you have a WU error, app malfunction, BSOD going on etc. The Link to Windows is supposed to give a couple warnings like for a WU restart needed or you might have unsaved work that needs to be saved. I kinda like to see whats on the screen first though before restart or shutdown.

You actually don't even need to keep the main Phone Link window open to transfer files..., you can simply drag items from the Mirrored Screen UI to your Desktop...

Really! It would take me at least 5 minutes to that. Is there a reason you find that necessary?

Don't you know that starting up and shutting down your computer are very stressful on it. I leave my desktops on all the time and let them either sleep or hibernate after a period of time. I might reboot them every week or two. I only shut them down during severe storms. I let my laptops sleep when not used for awhile but only shut them down before I go to bed.

I may regret asking

but why would it take you 5 minutes to shut down your PC? Generally I use S3 sleep but a shutdown takes a few seconds. A reboot about 35.

I keep getting mixed reviews on start-up/shutdown stress. I use to leave mine on but now they say leaving it running all the time on current machines is more wear and tear, unnecessary heat, etc then shutting them down every night and letting them cool off. I've started shutting them down now because of this change in opinion that shutting down is healthier for your PC's.

20-25 years ago. This hasn't been true for a long time that leaving your PC on was better than shutting it down or putting it to sleep.
