It's unrelated to Portableapps.com, it's the official portable edition from MiniTool. They update it each time when they update the non-portable edition so both are version 13.0 currently. The instructions how to run the portable are written on the page I linked, you can extract the folder from the downloaded .zip archive to just about any location. Unlike the non-portable, the portable does not contain an ad banner. There are no other differences AFAIK, besides the fact that it is portable.

IME it will run from the PortableApps Platform (Menu). As the program launcher 'partitionwizard.exe' is in the top level folder it will be recognised and appears under 'Other Apps', but there are also several other exe files in the folder that will also be added and these can be hidden from the Platform 'menu' using the right-click pop-up method.

Yeah, but it should also be noted that PortableApps.com Platform won't treat other portable apps the same way it treats portable apps that are hosted on the PortableApps.com Portable App Directory. Details here: Managing portable apps outside of in portableapps.com | PortableApps.com

I Still can't see what the PRO version does that the FREE Gparted can't do -- Gparted can fix almost any sort of file system too.

Thing is I'm trying to cut down on all the USBs lying around, so If I can add it to any other tools I could use, that would be a good thing for me.

you dont need a separate usb stick. unzip it and plonk it on any usb stick irrespective of whatever else is on the stick

There is portable version diskgenius which is much smaller and has more functions than any other free partition manager I know of.
It also works in winpe which minitool free refuses to do.

I ran the BAT file against My Ver 13 MiniTool boot drive and it now starts up perfectly with Secure Boot enabled. Thank you.

Doing this has raised more questions in my mind, which I hope are OK to post here (and done with admission that I know very little about the old and new Secure Boot keys, so they may not make any sense):

1. My understanding is that this BAT file will 'fix' ALL USB drives that have been created to look for the new keys, so I should now use it for any newly created drives that wont boot?

2. How about all of my old bootable USB drives, should I also go ahead and just run it against them? (If so, what would it be doing to them)?

3. When I eventually do update my computers' Secure Boot keys to the "new" ones, is the BAT-modified MiniTool USB going to still boot OK, or will I need to recreate it again from within the MiniTool program?

4. Also, when I eventually update to the new keys, will all of my old USB drives that use secure boot then stop booting unless I disable Secure Boot?

5. If #4 above is true, then is there a BAT file that will "fix" all the old drives so they will boot with the new keys?

I have a portable version of Minitool partition wizard, every time I run it, Eset antivirus deletes it, I have to exclude the folder from scanning and deleting.

Aomei stuff is good. Backupper does not have delta restore but that won't bother many people. Partition assistant is very good. I haven't got a license for Fastrecovery so haven't been able to test it

How many people really use the advanced Pro Features anyway?

The only really useful tool (imo) is to recover partitions (free versions do not have this feature) that have been accidentally deleted but, even then, I would only pay for that on demand i.e. when I need it.

Beside Minitool Wizard Pro is now only available on an expensive annual licence basis for a single licence although it seems you can buy an expensive 5 user perpetual user licence still. I accept this may vary depending on your location.

You can still buy a single user perpetual licence for Easeus Partition Manager which is just as good for the cost of one years single user MTPW licence. DiskGenius and AOMEI Partition Manager are similar.

IMO One should compare the costs (perpetual versus Pro) and features of paid versions of Minitool Partition Wizard Pro with its main competitors as it could work out very expensive over time.

Caveat: No matter what partitioning tool you use, ALWAYS make an image backup first. You have been warned!

Many years ago in another lifetime, I was a partner in a electronic equipment supplier for the NYSE and many of the member firms. We had a couple of services where we supplied our custom trading systems on a subscription basis, customers got the equipment, maintenance, and the data feed for a monthly fee. That was one of the most lucrative arrangements that I've ever been involved it.

IMO, the subscription model is for one purpose only, to provide a never-ending stream of revenue for the supplier!

Who knows? I have Minitool Partition Wizard Pro Ultimate with the lifetime license. It has paid for itself numerous times over but I use it less now as I'm retired (sort of) and pretty much only use it for domestic purposes now. Some of the more advanced features are handy but rarely needed. Still, I have used them on occasion.
