Monitor Listed Under 'Audio' in Bluetooth & Devices > Devices?

Hi all,

if i navigate to control panel>hardware & devices, i see my monitor listed under the Audio tab? i guess it's because i have an AMD gpu and i'm connecting an LED monitor through HDMI (from the gpu). Maybe it may provide some audio drivers, but, my monitor has no output speakers, so i was wondering if there is a way to remove this from Bluetooth & Devices > Devices?

if i use the 'Remove' button on this control panel page, it goes away, but only until i next reboot.

Mine is the same and you should see "Remove Device" under the three dots at the right.
BUT... I have no clue whether you "should" remove it or not.


Nvidia GPU, monitor has no speakers, Display Port


Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Devices...

i don't think it really matters at all you know,,since we our monitor no speakers, but just a bit unsightly on control panel page and remove button does nothing, the device description pops up again next time u reboot.

Monitors connected via HDMI 2.x and DP 1.3+ will register their internal audio outputs - even if it is just a headphone jack, like some gaming monitors (like mine) have.

Easiest way is to make it not bother you is to go to Windows Settings --> Sound --> All devices. Fomr there, click on each one you don't want to have access to, and then click the Don't allow button.



Green are the ones I want. The rest (in red) I have no need for.



You may get a warning that the sound device is in use, just click Don't allow again.

I would check your monitor's specs. As John mentioned, if the monitor has ANY audio circuits.. it will show up on the list.
