My OneDrive magically appeared in D:\Documents\OneDrive, I found it very confusing and want it to be in d:\OneDrive. I unlinked OneDrive and uninstalled Onedrive using Revo Uninstaller Pro, used the search option in Revo and deleted all references to OneDrive. I also deleted multiple OneDrive folders that were all empty.

There is a folder in d:\OneDrive that has Desktop and Pictures in it. There is a folder in c:\users\myname that has all of the folders I'm used to seeing including Desktop. The problem is that when I start my PC it's reading the Desktop file in d:\OneDrive. I've tried deleting this folder and it comes back when I open File Explorer. I have not re-installed OneDrive yet, I want to get my desktop issue fixed before I re-install.

How do I get Windows to recognize Desktop that's in c:\users\myname? TIA...

You used a sledge hammer to fix a picture hanging nail, but no worries. At this point you should install OneDrive and have it pointed to c:\users\myname. This should resolve the Desktop issue. It may duplicate some of the entries, and if it does just delete the ones not required.

Then if you want the local folder to be on d:\OneDrive open the OneDrive Setting and select Unlink this PC. Then link it back and change the location of the local folder to D:. This is what could have been done at the outset.

Thanks for your reply. I used the sledge hammer because the picture hanging nail didn't work for solving my desktop problem.

Thank you TairikuOkami! This fixed the issue in seconds rather than the hours I spent trying to fix it!
