Windows 11
PC was running fine I just decided to reboot after it felt a bit slow.
I get to the Mobo splash screen and then I get a BSOD which forces a restart to where I get another BSOD with a different error in the same spot.
Netio error
Thread Exception not handled error
ACPI Internal error
There was probably a 4th one to come up but after 3 I decided to run SFC and CHKDSK which are still running.
I'm not sure if those procedures will fix my rig though. I am certain something expensive has failed on me.
Power supply is brand new, Lian Li 1000watt and yes I used new cables. I didn't recycle.
I replaced all the fans too.
I'm not sure I did any recent Windows updates.
Added a 6th SSD.
Which before those 3 upgrades the rig ran perfectly fine. All bought brand new from Microcenter, not used.

Which chldsk switches are running?

What was/is seen on boot (error message / code)?

Can the computer boot into safe mode?

There was a 4th BSOD
Bad Pool Header.

I am running system restore, from 4 days ago, to see if this works. If not I will attempt safe mode which I don't think ever worked for me.

System Restore did not work.
Trying to access safe mode now.

Find one or two flash drives that you can format and a working Windows computer.

Create a bootable Sea Tools flash drive and a Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) (Windows 11 iso):

I did a Cloud Reinstall of Windows and I'm back in. Everything is running good. I suspect I might have a failing NVME even though CrystalDisk says Health Status 77% GOOD at 35,609 hours. I could be wrong here, it could be I got a virus somewhere? Who knows. I'm going to order another 500gb nvme just incase this happens again.

Check the temps on your NVMe. If you have the software cloning the entire thing to a fresh stick and then removing the original to keep in a safe place is a good plan. Remember to label the original as it may be years before you need it (in the event that you need it at all). As an added precaution you can run DISM, CHKDISC, and SFC /SCANNOW on the clone copy to verify and repair anything that may have gone awry in the copy process. This is rare but sometimes stuff happens. Clones are good insurance because at least this way you know you have one good working copy of your operating system tucked away in a safe place in the event that your clone commits sewer side. *Just a suggestion* User preference prevails.

Well, I thought I was good to go, in the process of getting things back together it's now stuck in a Preparing Automatic Repair boot loop.
page_fault_in_nonpaged_area BSOD

I tried starting the system with one stick at a time. All 4 sticks tested and same behavior.

I am freezing on Preparing Automatic Repair or if I get past that I hit the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD.
I hit Boot options on splash screen and that doesn't help.
I can get into the BIOS but not sure where that's going to get me either.

It's not letting me edit...
I reset the BIOS and I'm back in.
Not why THAT fixed it. Going back in to the BIOS one setting at a time to see what caused the issue. I'm betting it was my XMP profile but that's been working flawlessly for years.

Resize Bar Support re-enabled.
XMP re-enabled.
I don't want to say it's fixed and jinx it so I'll check back in a day or two if anything else pops up.

I just ran Sea Tools and the drive checks out. 77% life left in it. Ran 4 quick tests. I'll run a longer one later. Can't post screenshots I'm still piecing everything back together the way I had it. The interfaced is bothering me because it's bunched up and I can't see all the options with drive selection overlapping other drives.

I'm making progress but still having an issue that I might have solved.
No more BSOD's but after idling or leaving a youtube video on pause for 5 mins Windows freezes.
No disk or software errors listed after CHKDSK or SFC /SCANNOW
DDU'd the Graphics drivers for a clean install.
Still had the issue.
Downloaded Driver Booster to check for out of date apps. There was 6.
After updating them I rebooted, browsed the web for 30 mins without any issues.
Walked away for 7 mins, give or take, and it hasn't frozen yet.
Gaming was not an issue before I noticed Windows freezing.
Temps are not an issue. CPU stays around 40c, OS drive 37c, GPU averages 34c.
I won't get the new M.2 for a few more days, I'm kicking myself I didn't go out and grab it in person but it was almost $15 cheaper online not to mention saving on gas money for the 50 mile trip to Microcenter.

The reason I suggested checking the temps on your NVMe is because I've seen thermals do this before. Yes, I know it doesn't make sense given the sorts of error messages you're getting but hot silicon will produce "issues" that aren't really the issue. Just because the CPU is nice and cool doesn't necessarily mean your NVMe is enjoying the same temps. In your case this doesn't seem to be the problem. Overclocking can also generate error messages like this as well. These are classic error messages so I can see why you would suspect a virus. Have you run the DISM commands yet? Selective startup can be a pain but you may just have to resort to it in order to isolate the culprit.

I've been gaming for the last 2 hours without any issues but in The past I've seen the computer run great until I exit a game then it reverts back to crashing and not booting.
Crossing my fingers on this one.

Oh as for overclocking, I was running ryzen master auto OC and curve optimizer for the last couple years along with XMP. No issues until yesterday. I only re enabled XMP this time around.

Good Morning for all those still following along. I woke up this morning and the PC was on all night idling, also because it runs my Plex server, and it didn't crash or freeze. Event Viewer shows ZERO error/critical reports. I still have XMP enabled but decided NOT to auto overclock my CPU this time around. I'll just leave it be.

:thumbsup:You people were great in the adventure this was. It was nice to have some support along the way because I was stressed beyond belief.

SO in a nutshell...
Computer would start up with a new BSOD right after the mobo splash screen.
Never made it to windows.
Safemode did not work at all.
Checking, scanning, fixing disks did not work.
Reinstalling Windows 11 from the Cloud removed 4/5 BSOD's.
Resetting BIOS removed the final BSOD.
Computer made it to Windows but froze at random or after 10 mins of idling.
There was Event 56 Application Popup errors before every freeze in Event Viewer.
I don't think the GPU drivers were the issue but I DDU'd them and reinstalled just in case.
Checking and updating all drivers with Driver Booster solved that. No more idle freeze crashes.

As for what caused this nightmare, either a virus or a failing OS M.2 drive.
If this happens again I can certainly determine what the problem is. I guess it was time for a crash and a refresh after 35,000 hours of peace. A good record for myself.
