Solved Multiple Desktop Problem

Win 11 Pro 21H2 Build 22000.856

Single monitor with attached drawing tablet (Huion13)

All operations are normal.

Exploring the new Multiple Desktop options, I am trying to get a second desktop where I can run my drawing tablet software separately from the main desktop.

I cannot create an active second desktop. The multiple desktop icon on the taskbar will create a blank new desktop thumbnail, but it is inactive. I can duplicate my “main” desktop using the multiple desktop command, but I cannot start a separate program in the duplicate.

Is there something inherent in the drawing tablet connection that will not let it be run in a separate desktop? Up to now, I have previously been working with the tablet in an extended window.

If your monitors are pluged in via the graphics card it should recognise and display all the monitors
I have 3 and i can run different versions of the same program on each monitor

The question was about multiple desktops with a single monitor, but both answers so far are about multiple monitors.

Does anything happen when you try to start the program on the second desktop?

I agree that it should recognize and display all the monitors, however, when I do a clean install sometimes Sometimes my second monitor will not be recognized. It takes an act of Congress to get everything correct.

Good catch. I too assumed the OP was talking about multiple monitors. ^^
Just deleted my post.

Personally, I leave Mulitple Desktops alone. MS has enough trouble keeping one desktop functioning properly.

Oops, sorry about that. I have dual monitors, so really haven't explored setting up more than one desktop.
