I store my data (which is very few) on usb flash sticks.

Which backup? The one included in windows? I searched for it by typing "backup" but there was none. I saw it in the last version, I think.

No. A full system image using 3rd party software. It backups up everything on your drive and can be restored using the recovery media for whichever backup software you choose to use. Some are paid and some are free.

SOLVED -- Settings and Windows 10 Home Activation

Thanks to this topic (below) that I found today, I was able to properly Activate my Chuwi Hi10 win10 home tablet just now !!

I downloaded the ShowKeyPlus (link below) app and ran it. Then, I tried all the keys shown in the app's 'Windows Product Information' report screen.
* link: ShowKeyPlus - Windows 10 Help Forums -- I downloaded v1.1.18.0

When I came to the OEM key in that report, it activated!
* Activation: Windows is activated with a digital license
