My windows 11 says it is windows 7 home?


That was my next course of action is an sfc scan
All else fails a reformat once again
In all my years I've never ran into a weird problem like these 2
I will keep you all posted hope this last restore works because other than the windows 7 thing my computer was running fine other than things like theme and transparency issues.
Reformatting is never my bain it's the setting back up which I hate

If you don't mind the work involved in a Clean install then that would be the most effective resolution. It would also give you the opportunity to make a system image of a pristine system and hence an optioon for the future.

I don't disagree with Berton's mention of DISM but I prefer to just suggest SFC and then mention DISM only if SFC leaves behind irreparable errors [this is also the approach taken by the SFC tutorial].

Just to double check....
Open up a command prompt as admin... it should tell you the full Windows build number at the top...

No clue. The registry is a very big place. :-)
There may be multiple registry entries involved. And they might be in HEX or the like.

Maybe our local alien @Brink may have a suggestion.
