Need help extending the volume of an external drive

I am just setting up an external drive for the first time. I have a 4TB sata ssd in a 5 bay external drive enclosure.

Haven't done this before. I forgot to convert TB to GB and then to MB so I ended up waay over provisioning. I need to extend the volume and would like to allocate 3.2 TB of space in the volume. But the numbers in the fields seem weirdly large and I'm just a bit confused.

What number amount do I enter into the field to allocate the equivalent of 3.2 TB of space for disk 3?

when you extend that drive, as shown in your image, it will extend the drive to use that whole drive space.
all the numbers are in MB's so the figure looks large but all it is doing is extending the usable space across the whole drive.

Okay, so I worked it out to needing 3200000 MB of space to make the equivalent of 3.2 TB. But when I entered it in, it shows 3156.64 GB when shouldn't it be an even 3200 GB? Also, in the extended volume wizard it's showing the max available space is 583030, which is a weird odd number.

I don't understand the numbers

I just noticed it created a 4th disk. I don't have a 4th disk. Did it create another partition?

Should I start over?

Lastly, there's the actual disk size and the size as labeled by the manufacturer.
In my screenshot above, you will see what I mean.
I have three disks, They are 500GB, 4TB and 8TB. This is normal.

Why the Discrepancy Happens
    • Manufacturer Measurement (Decimal): Drive makers count storage using base-10 decimal units. In this system, 1 kilobyte (KB) is 1,000 bytes, 1 megabyte (MB) is 1,000 KB, and 1 terabyte (TB) is exactly 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (1,000 GB).
    • Operating System Measurement (Binary): Operating systems like Windows calculate storage using base-2 binary units. Computers count by groups of 1,024. To Windows, 1 kilobyte is 1,024 bytes, and 1 gigabyte is 1,024 megabytes.
When Windows takes the manufacturer's total byte count (1,000,000,000,000 bytes) and divides it by 1,024 three times to find the gigabyte value, the result calculates out to approximately 931 gibibytes (which Windows labels as GB).

It is normal for a 1TB hard drive to be reported as approximately 931GB in an operating system due to the difference between base-10 (used by manufacturers) and base-2 (used by operating system) unit calculations. No actual storage space is lost; it is a difference in how the capacity is measured.
