Solved Need help Lenovo won't boot up

flashh4, when we left off, you were stepping through the batch file. We were almost to the last questions that the batch file was going to ask you. After that, it would create the flash drive for you. Did run that batch file to completion?

As bobkn pointed, an ISO image shows up like a DVD when it is mounted. Let me explain...

An ISO image is in fact a disc image for optical media such as CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays. For that reason, when you mount such an image, it appears like a CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray.

Does that make sense?

Bottom line is that this is normal.

Hey, there is a blue circle going around on the H (flash drive) i hope that means it's loading the files ??

When you say that there is a blue circle, where do you see this? In File Explorer?

Also, unless something has changed, H: was NOT the flash drive before. H: was the drive letter assigned to the ISO image that we mounted.

SIW2, thanks for that, but I was very purposefully avoiding that

. There's a couple of corner cases where that can cause issues. As an example, I have a flash disk inserted into a USB port on my computer. I open diskpart, perform a "clean" on the flash disk, then exit diskpart. I then see this:

Note that both File explorer and the wmic command both still show a drive Q: even though that drive has been wiped. There are ways around that that I'm not going into now, but I wanted to avoid a situation where I need to deal with side effects of that.

But thank you for pointing this out.

Are mouse and KB plugged into ports 3 and 4, which reside beside the LAN port? Very important. The 4 other ports are connected to the chipset, while 3 and 4 should be going straight to CPU.

First thing i need to format these drives, it won't let me by clicking format, i get the message "windows was unable to format", just wanted to format them, no reason other than that ! But i figured it out !!

You appear to be trying to format the System drive from within Windows.

You can't do that, for obvious reasons.

If you want to do a clean install of Windows, you need to boot from a USB drive. From that, you can wipe anything you'd like to.

I'm not sure what kind of special boot USB drive "hsehestedt" is trying to help you prepare.

With the above disk management what are the current problems?

What happens when the computer is powered on now and you attempt to boot Windows?
a) any error messages or codes?
b) are you able to use the keyboard without problems?
c) are you able to use the mouse without problems?

When you boot using the Windows Media Creation Tool (MCT)
a) any error messages or codes?
b) are you able to use the keyboard without problems?
c) are you able to use the mouse without problems?

Did you finish running the batch file?

EDIT: ~~From your screenshot, it looks like you did. Just for confirmation, could you unplug the flash drive and take another screenshot in File explorer. I expect drives J: and F: will disappear.~~

I looked at that wrong. Only one partition got created on the flash drive. Could you please run that batch file again please? When it asks for the source, once again enter H:\. When it asks for drive letters, enter R the first time, and S for the second one. Then provide a screenshot again after it is done.
